Excellent Functionality for a Free App
extremely (almost scary) accurate times for SF muni (buses) - huge database of public transport (i've only used SF) - great UI design and very easy to use - favorites function is very helpful for quick access to your regular stops - maps are a nice addition too with live tracking of every active buss! - also...it's free!
A+ guys, I would easily pay a few bucks for this functionality. It has been a life saver for commuting and getting to and from work on-time and stress-free. I can actually plan my schedule ahead of time and make adjustments as needed, instead of wait around for hours not knowing when, and which bus, if any, we're coming. I know for a fact now, that I wouldn't be able commute anymore unless I had this tech. We all know how extremely unreliable public transport is, and this app is a true winner because it gives you immediate access to super-accurate, real-time data and tracking of every single public transport vehicle in your area at your fingertips! Whether you are using public transport regularly, or just want to be prepared in case your car breaks down, or perhaps planning a trip to the city, you would be absolutely crazy not to download this app! Did I mention there are absolutely no pesky Ads, stupid in-app purchases, or any of that nonsense - Just a super clean, friendly, but chock-full-of-functionality app, delivered in a small download size, and best of all, it won't cost you a penny!
Ruined a good thing
Getting rid of a reliable website for this app does nothing to ease my MUNI commute and plan alternate routes. The refresh and arrival times are seldom accurate and you pretty much have to have the bus stop in sight to see the approximate arrival times unless you have it saved to you're favorites. By then you're either running or watching it go by. Searching for routes is impossible. This feature does not exist as it did on the website unless it is hidden in an Easter egg I have to find. It only lists nearby bus routes and with the inaccurate GPS I mostly get routes I'm not looking for in which I have to scroll through the poorly designed bus options to see it has only busses listed two miles away. In San Francisco that's across town.
As far as the favorites all the selections look the same. Poorly designed information hierarchy. It's an app. I should be able to name them such as "NJudah Home"(as I did with the bookmarks in the website) and move them in order that matches my commute and transfers.
I've missed more busses and trains since installing this app than I ever did. The printed MUNI schedules were more accurate. Do they still exist? Please update with a solid working app. I will pay real money for it from the job you've made harder to plan get to.
Only one annoying problem
The app generally works well for me. Sometimes it misses my GPS location and lists stops I know are further away than the stop I want, but I haven't found a bus tracker app that gets it right every time (cities scramble signals...it's just how it is). The problem I have that keeps it from 5 stars is that it auto-refreshes way too frequently, even in-app. I may be in a long list looking for the bus and stop I want, only for it to auto-refresh out of nowhere and send me back to the top with things listed in a different order. VERY annoying, and no way I can find to disable it. I have favorited key stops I use regularly, but I'm not always using those stops.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
