• Stay in the know about break-ins, theft, weather alerts and other important notices.
• Find, sell and give away items in the Classifieds section.
• Get recommendations for trustworthy service providers like plumbers, roofers, contractors, and more.
• Ask for help finding lost pets.
• Hear about fun neighborhood events, rallies or even yard sales.
• Connect with the best neighborhood babysitters, dog walkers, and pet sitters.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Nextdoor doesn't run GPS in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require it.

Customer Reviews

Not as great as it was

NextDoor is is fabulous, because it connects neighbors to each other. Ours is great because the city is also active on the network, and watches the hot topics. I've had some minor issues with the app, but overall, it's good!
Update: Recent complaints are that there seem to a contingent of angry people who want to turn everything into negative political yelling. It's sad that even a neighborhood site has gotten wrapped up in the current nastiness.
I also disagree with the management of Nextdoor about not allowing our city reps to answer questions. It's much worse to allow conjecture, gossip, and misinformation, than to just let the city representatives answer questions.
Finally, what the heck did you do with Recommendations? They no longer show up as an option! I had to fiddle with it to find a single section! You push us to recommend businesses, then you hide them. I agree with other reviews. Your updates have been terrible. Talk to users! Not programmers!

Next argument, next topic, not here

This app was great at first than they started adding a bunch of rules to limit topic, limit connections, oh let’s complain about everyone and everything except about Nextdoor, rude people, why can they do it but not you, and if one person questions them it’s they block you from posting. There is no freedom of speech if you disagree with admin, rules, Nextdoor, people. There also is the fact if a post is ongoing for days about a topic they close it because they don’t want going on discussion about the issues example lady got a letter from a neighbor about her leaves calling them names and saying bad thing about them. They made them remove the letter so no recognized the writing even though other had similar notes with same writing. Then it was shut down on comments and topic removed. This site is not about help or bring neighbors together it’s about complain and follow their ideas what’s best.

A good resource!

I am pleasantly surprised that this app is better and more useful than I thought it would be. Maybe it is just the community I live in, but people share concerns and good information, with an absolute minimum of complaints that are petty and inappropriate. The complaints expressed so far have definitely been reasonable and have raised awareness of situations, constraints and needs that should be addressed. With so few of us having time and opportunity to interact with our neighbors, this app provides us with a tool to share information that is specifically targeted and pertinent to those living around us.
