Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Nextdoor doesn't run GPS in the background unless you give us permission by turning on optional features that require it.

Inequality

This app could be very useful, HOWEVER when you have issues with the leads ND"help" does NOT listen to your problems no matter how many times you have brought up an issue. They take at least a week to email you back, which is quite ironic seeing as how they are a solely virtual company and have 150+ employees. They DO NOT give you the same respect they demand if their users. If leads of your neighborhood abuse their "powers" ND doesn't care and just deactivates the person that is complaining. Absolutely the WORST ran "neighborly" app I have ever known. Don't even get me started on the very one sided politics of leads and their "right" to mute and single out certain individuals. No one is allowed to have their own voice, unless it matches that of the leads. Leads demand things of certain individuals and are not consistent through out the community all while ND does absolutely nothing. If you become part of this "community" prepare for more political crap and unresolved issues. Can't forget grown adults acting like they're in elementary school ether.

Cust service retaliates. No block feature.

If you report another user to customer service, instead of them handling it they look for a reason to punish you by suspending your account. Neighbors on the app frequently bully/attack other neighbors in a mob like fashion, and evidently this is the sort of environment Nextdoor wants to foster since they suspend accounts that report it. It's always been one user vs several other neighbors. Leads don't step in to delete comments or de-escalate.

There is no block feature, only mute. This means if you mute someone that stops you from seeing their posts in public threads, but doesn't stop them from sending you harassing private messages.

The age range of this app appears to be late 20's to middle age, just so you have an idea. They require you go by your legal name in the app, even if that's not the name you actually go by in real life. Their guidelines state "enter your name as you would if you were introducing yourself", then they'll require you send proof via a state id, passport, or bill. They claim this is to foster a friendly environment, but how does that work if you're forced to use the name on you id instead of the name you use everyday? It doesn't.

App is a failure. Stay away. Bunch of adults bullying and harassing one another.

Wonderful app! So useful!

I am so grateful to the person who look discovered this app and began inviting neighbors to participate. I live in a relatively small community in Northern California which is experiencing quite a bit of growth! As a community, we face many issues and this app has enabled so many of us to establish contact and to stay in touch! Perhaps I'm not using this app correctly, but did request one daily digest yet do continue to receive notifications of replies which can be a bit overwhelming, but I'll take it!!
