It was an okay game
I play a lot of escape games so I know what I like in a good one. I've been playing them for years, so when I say this one was "okay" - that's exactly what I mean. It had way too many puzzles that netted nothing more than w coin so made it not really worth the effort. I liked that you could do mahjong instead, but found it repetitive no boring after a while. The graphics were nice and the storyline was so-so. I'm not into the whole voodoo/zombie/undead type stuff. What I hated was the tedious, random jumping from scene to scene with a map that didn't make much visual sense. There was no real logic for going back and forth between locations. It took several hours for me to complete because I was getting annoyed with the randomness of it. For beginner escapers it will be awesome, but I think it needs some more tweaks and more development. I really like the Japanese escape games from Gotmail. To me those are complex, visually stunning, require intelligent logic, and have such an emotional payoff when you finish one that you can't wait to do another. I think you can get there - eventually. Nice attempt and best of luck.
I am really enjoying this game. It has enough hidden object mini-games or a choice to do mahjong instead! The puzzles are good, too. A good variety overall and a good story line. Great graphics. I have had no problems at all and I have no idea what the complaint about ads and spam were about. There's the G5 ads before you start the game (no big deal), but nothing IN the game.
If you like moving around looking for certain things to do other things and progressing through the game with puzzles and hidden object games mixed in, then this is the perfect game for you!
Good, pros and cons...
Pros: Exquisite graphics, cohesive story line, interesting and challenging puzzles. Zoom in feature helps with HO. Flawless operation and transitions from interactive to cutscenes. Impressive animation programming. Overall, it's very enjoyable.
Cons: No intuitive play; in other words, you must almost always look to the guide to know what to do next. A lot of jumping between scenes. Some of the HO clues are listed out of order. Unlimited mode does not time or score you and often crashes the game. I don't play mahjong and it seems out of place here.
