Like pixels? How about randomly generated weapons? What about crazy monsters trying to rip you to shreds? Welcome to The United States of Nightmerica.
Nightmerica is a game about facing the monsters inside your head, and shooting them with a whole load of bullets. Drawing on the retro spirit of arcade games and the… Explosions? Of modern titles. Face hoardes of monsters in three different arenas, using any of the infinitely randomly generated guns, sidearms or special weapons. Show your nightmares who's boss!
Featuring a haunting chip tune inspired soundtrack by Fractures (http://fracturesmusic.com/). Like the soundtrack LOADS? Get the full OST at http://fractures-music.bandcamp.com/album/nightmerica-soundtrack for just $3!

Thanks for all the support while we make these changes! There are only two of us and we are both full time Uni students.
Nightmerica reminds me of a sort of twisted version of Super Crate Box. Its really cool and the concept is simple, so replayability happens. I really like how you can infinitely mod weapons, but I just wish that there was an explanation about the stats somewhere, maybe like a chart. Enemy design is really creative and they all have different forms and attack patterns which keeps Nightmerica difficult. The only thing that could use fixing is that in the options menu, if you choose to have left and right keys, they don't fit in the little grey space. The small controls option makes them a little too small. The right thing to do would be to allow making buttons bigger and smaller in the edit controls screen. Nightmerica could use a sensitivity option too, because sometimes my weapon changing swipe isn't strong enough. Anyway, I really love this creepy shooter that costs less than a soda. ;)
As I get the hang of it, I'm really enjoying this. After switching out the control pad for the LR buttons and moving the jump and shoot buttons further apart, the controls feel really good. I know you've highlighted the guns, but I think the variety of enemies is what makes this really good.
A few suggestions:
If you want to appeal to a wider group of players, the default control layout could use some tweaking. It's nice that the controls are customizable, but some folks will form an opinion before they figure that out.
I still switch guns by accident pretty often. I don't have a good idea for how to fix that, but it impedes my ability to use the different guns strategically.
The upgrade system is complicated, and involves more text in game than I have time to read. I'm also not sure I get how the power-up boxes work. Adding explanation of these things outside of gameplay would be really nice.
Great unknown game
This games needs more attention! I Love just about everything except the control square/pad. Please fix! It's too low on screen, tiny and just doesnt fell nearly as tight as other iphone platformers. Really hampers intense moments. Besides that what a great innovative game(procedural content) on iOS
