GUIDANCE AND TRAINING
Whether you’re looking to take on your first 5K or smash your marathon PR, Nike+ Coach gives you training programs, coaching expertise and daily workouts to get you race ready.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Stay on track, no matter where you are. On the trail, treadmill, or streets, your iPhone’s GPS and accelerometer accurately track your distance, pace and time. You can also track your metrics at every mile with in-run audio feedback.
Share your runs and let your friends keep you going with cheers along the way. Show off your Nike+ level color and amp things up with a PowerSong at the press of a button.
COMPARE AND COMPETE
Nothing's as motivating as a little friendly competition. Compete with your friends for the top leaderboard spot, or go toe-to-toe against them in a Nike+ Challenge. Just set a distance. Invite your friends. And race to the finish.
CAPTURE THE MOMENT
Show off your run with a thousand words. Take photos before, during and after your run. Customize them with your route, metrics, and of course, a swoosh.

Bug fixes and improved navigation menu responsiveness.
Fartlek runs no voice commands.
I have been using this all since way back when you NEEDED the shoe sensor. I have logged a good bit of runs on here, and generally love this app. I am leaving for special operations training in the military which requires me to build up to running 35-40 miles a week. After looking through the coach section of the app, I found the half marathon running program which builds you up to 37 miles in one week then tapers off (I will adjust that to meet my needs before shipping out). My only gripe with the app are the "fartlek" runs. The first time I tried it out, I was under the assumption that every 2 and 3 minutes your pace would be called out with something along the lines of "run faster" or "slow it down for 2 minutes". After hitting my mile warm-up, I heard nothing. I'm pretty upset with this because had I not carried a sports watch in me 24/7 I would be SOL, and have to carry my phone in my hand the entire run! Another reason this makes me upset is because lesser apps I notice have voice commands, and you would expect better from nike.
Solid App, Nike software at its best
I've been using the running app since it required a shoe sensor insert, and it's gotten better with every version. Nike creates some top notch apps that help you track and motivate your health exercise routine. I'm glad Nike is moving away from gadgets since that always seemed to be there weakness. But they've learned a lot with each attempt and I have to say the running app along with the NTC are their best!!! I like being able to track the rate of my run along with adding runs that weren't captured via gps.
A few things I would like to see added would be the option to include indoor/treadmill added to the type of run option. And a better integration with their training program which is accessible facebook. Kid prefer to keep the training option within the app, but if you use the calendar on your ios device it does the job nicely.
I own the Nike+ watch and I use this app. When they say "get more out of your runs" they're not kidding! Nike+ is by far my favorite app. There are so many features that show you things that you wouldn't know on a normal run, ex: calories burned, pace, where you slow down and speed up, elevation, and so many more things. For people who are worried about their running stats getting posted all over the internet--don't worry! It is totally OPTIONAL!!! The only reason I say this is because that was my main concern in downloading the app; I didn't want people seeing what I did or didn't run. Also, running with your phone in your hand isn't nearly as bad as I'd thought it would be. I'd 100% recommend this app for all runners of ALL abilities!
