What's New in Version 2.1.1
Bug fixes and other Improvements.
Bring back the little dancing guy!!
I had the original FuelBand and just as I was approaching my million fuel mark, the button quit working. It was still under warranty so I called and customer service said they would send me a replacement once they received my defective one. I sent it in and waited and waited and finally I emailed customer service and found out that instead of mailing me a replacement, the refunded my card! I was devastated! That was a month of fuel I could have been recording. Now almost 9 months later, I was given the new FuelBand SE as a gift. I'm very appreciative because I missed my old one so much but I miss some of the old app features like the total mile count and of course the little dancing guy. When I had my first one, I didn't know about that little dude until I synced and made my first goal. He scared the crap out of me because I had the volume on my phone turned up and here he comes putting me on full blast across the screen! LOVED IT!! I've had this band on for 2 days and today I meet my goal and was actually looking for my little buddy to pop up and nothing! A silent "you've reached your goal". OMG... I like the band and some of the new improvements but bring the dancing dude back, total mile count, and throw in a band & upgraded app to monitor your heart rate!
Nice app when it works
I like the app for its visual graphing of activity and what not, however sometimes... Okay, a lot of the time, it does not accurately track number of hours won. Like getting "Great 8" - I get the achievement 1/3 times when I have hit that goal repeatedly within the month. With the 10 hours in a day achievement, I've hit that goal numerous times and I never get that same achievement again. The same goes for the time specific trophies like lunch break and afternoon burst. I've received the award for each of those only once, when I have worked out and gained at least 1500 fuel during those hours again and again.
The positive side to the app though is that it will accurately sync with my fuelband. For a couple of days it was actually stellar at syncing almost instantaneously... Prior to that and afterwards (currently), it is slow as molasses and takes at least 10 minutes to sync activity. I have nothing but sympathy for anyone with a limited data plan and syncing via Bluetooth and no wifi connection.
But it does what it's supposed to for the most part and that's why it's more than average, but far from perfect.
I miss the little dancing guy-and the miles count!
I have the first generation FuelBand and loved the initial app and features. Then, without so much as a by-your-leave, Nike upgrades the thing to cater to the SE customers, with all sorts of things I can't use because I don't have (not do I want) the new model. Furthermore, they eliminated the little dancing guy and replaced him with these dumb trophies. Further, they eliminated the miles count- to be honest, I would have rather they removed the calorie count which I never believe, so I never look at it) rather than how many miles I have walked in a day. I can estimate it from how many steps I've taken, but I shouldn't have to! If I could have the old app back, I'd take it in a second. I haven't had the technical problems that some people have had, but I do want the miles count back. Other than that, I love my FuelBand and recommend them to everyone. But give me the option to have the old dancing character and also the option of having miles recorded!
