The Nike+ Running App tracks your runs and helps you reach your goals -- whether it’s running your first race, or setting a new personal record. From first-time runners to marathon veterans, you'll get the measurement and motivation you need to run farther and faster than ever before. Welcome to the world’s greatest running community.

Whether you’re looking to take on your first 5K or smash your marathon PR, Nike+ Coach gives you training programs, coaching expertise and daily workouts to get you race ready.

Stay on track, no matter where you are. On the trail, treadmill, or streets, MotionX® combines your iPhone’s GPS and accelerometer for the most accurate tracking of your distance, pace and time. Track how high you climb with elevation tracking optimized for the iPhone 6. Measure your progress every mile with in-run audio feedback.

Share your runs and let your friends keep you going with cheers along the way. Show off your Nike+ level color and amp things up with a PowerSong at the press of a button.

Nothing's as motivating as a little friendly competition. Compete with your friends for the top leaderboard spot, or go toe-to-toe against them in a Nike+ Challenge. Just set a distance. Invite your friends. And race to the finish.

Show off your run with a thousand words. Take photos before, during and after your run. Customize them with your route, metrics, and of course, a swoosh.

Nike+ Running works with Apple Watch, giving you more ways to get updates on your wrist. To learn more, go to the Apple Watch tab in settings.

Connected for Health
By accessing your Apple Health data, Nike+ can give you even more detailed information about your run, including heart rate monitor support in-run when using a Bluetooth 4.0 enabled device like Wahoo’s Tickr products.

Please note that continued use of GPS running in the background could dramatically decrease battery life.

Best running app I've used

I love this app! Here are some reasons why: 1. It uses GPS so it shows a map of what I run and gives me exact (and I mean exact, my runs have more mileage than my friends when I run the sidewalk and she runs the street) mileage without me "mapping" it out before or afterwards. 2 you can use it on a treadmill the same way. 3. You can "compete" with friends on a monthly mileage so it's incentive to get up and go for a run. 4. I can run it simultaneously as my streaming music app (Pandora). 5. It keeps track of every activity (run) so you can look back on them to review courses/times. 6. It keeps track of your records; longest run, fastest 1k, fastest mile, fastest 5k, etc. 7. You can put your shoes in so you can keep track of mileage so you know how many miles you get out of them when they start breaking down. 8. You can do quick start or you can set a run length, and it will give you a count down till you're done while listening to music! 9. It gives me average pace. And 10. It gives me calories burned.

Good, but coach section could be better

Overall this is a good running app. It keeps track of your distance, pace, time, all the basics well. I would love to see more options in the coach area though. Specifically to be able to choose what day of the week you have the long run. The app has it on Saturday and while that probably works well for a lot of people it does not work for all. It would be nice to set the day of the week for the long run and then the program will fill in the rest. Also with the coach, it would be great for the interval days of it told you when to adjust you pace. Or even had some way to tell you when the warm up was done and when to start the cool down.

Great app

This is a great app. I've been using it for years. (I just hit 2000 miles.) It keeps me motivated because of the data it keeps. There are a couple of features that are lacking that I would love to see Nike develop ... 1) the coaching feature is nice but instead of it giving me the directions of the run just at the beginning, I want it to coach me through the run through audio. 2) I want to be able to map out my route and then have it give me turn-by-turn directions. This would be especially helpful on longer runs or when I'm exploring new routes. Overall, this is a great app. If you are looking for a running app, look no further. You found it!
