Disappointing overhaul - my favorites got wiped out
I am trying to give this major overhaul a chance, but it's hard to do so. I had a handful of workouts that I favorited them at were completely wiped out, Nike didn't even offer recommended alternatives to the workouts not supported. Totally deflating. I chose those workouts because they worked for my schedule, my body and my mind. Now I have to go through the task of sifting through workouts again to add to my rotation of workouts. I like to run and then supplement my runs with 15-20 minutes of focused strength training. My absolute favorite and effective workout in the old app is nowhere to be found, nothing similar even exists (an burner workout). It's a total bummer. I used to use the old app about twice a week. I have used it twice since July. In addition to my missing favorite workouts, it's workout plans aren't working for me. I was actually excited for those when I first saw them. The app is more difficult to navigate and I lose my spot easily. The plus is the coaching throughout the exercises and visual feedback for correct form. I used to rave about NTC to my friends, not anymore until then make improvements. Please offer suggested workouts for my favorites that got wiped out with the update!
So Upset About the New App
I am so upset about this new Nike Training app. I used to LOVE to app, and use it as an awesome way to supplement my runs. The old workouts truly transformed my body and allowed my to build muscle and strengthen weak areas without needing to go to the gym. It was a perfect, quick option when I was busy, and I loved that I could do it at home in front of the tv, at a park mid-run, or on vacation. I used to recommend it to all of my friends and sing its praises!
That being said, the new version of the app is a total let down, and has actually led me to stop using the app almost altogether. The app is constantly having issues now, I can't download all of the workouts ahead of time, and the new graphics are really not worth it. I often give the app a chance, and go in to find a workout, only to have the app freeze on me or shut down. It is also much harder to quickly and easily navigate. The only plus is that the consistently moving pictures do allow me to see how to do the many new moves without having the pause the the work out.
Hopefully some of these things will be fixed soon to give the app the same simple yet effective quality that really transformed my workouts before.
an OK app, but could be improved
I downloaded this app about 8 weeks ago, chnagend my plan 2 weeks in and am about to finish my 7 week plan. I agree with another post for this app stating that the exercises are somewhat repetitive as well as directed for specific area of your body ie. either lower or upper body.
I am yet to find an exercise for abs! I also do not like the count system where you have to click the next button after completion of the designated reps.
Having said that, I do like the exercise plan as it gives me something to look forward to and to keep me on track. I wish there was a version for an ipad for ease of use in my gym as we (my boyfriend and I) both exercise at the same time.
Also another issue I have with it is the fact that I keep gettig alerst that I have messages, which are usually summaries from each completed week, but they never clear. I have opened all of them on both of the devices I use but they are still there. Sync is super slow between the devices as well.
