This app is incredibly accurate. I sighted in a .308 rifle using this app at home without firing a shot. I plugged in 100yrd sight in distance then set the distance from target at 10 yards. The app said to aim almost 1" high. So I sighted the scope 1" above the bullseye from 30 feet away. Today I took the gun to the range to test it out I was 1 click high. Setting the windage is a different story but even that was only 1" off. In other words, by simply using this app my rifle could have dropped a deer from out to 100 yards before I ever even fired a shot with this scope.
GREAT for most hunters
App DOES NOT support the requirements of a highly trained sniper, but thats ok, I just hunt. And I'm a pretty average shot at best, so there's that.
Bought a new mid-range Nikon scope, zeroed it at 100 yards, and the reticle and app gave me a pretty good idea on the 250 range.
Auto auto-weather doesn't work, and never has, as far as I know. That's ok. Again, I hunt. The windage could be useful, but only if you're hunting very near your local weather station. Never needed temp and pressure adjustment for a 200 yd shot.
For a $200 scope and a free app, I'm VERY happy!
SIDE NOTE: Nikon is an optics company. They are proud of the clarity of their glass, and they should be. VERY clean, very clear.
I love this app and find it very helpful. You can even use it to set your zero for a distance that is not available to shoot at. However, I cannot find any information on what barrel length it is assuming or a setting in which to change it. Having a setting for that would be a lot to ask considering different powder burn rates and I assume that they assume a 20 inch barrel but that is a lot of assuming. Answer that question, fix the automatic weather and it's 5 stars for sure. I plan to buy the wind meter that works with it.
