Run, swim and fly through glistening waterfalls and rivers, overgrown forests, sky-high mountains and ancient dungeons. Shape change into powerful dragons, soaring eagles, quick-footed deer and more.

Ready for adventure? The Ballad of BrightRidge and Love & Tin are two magical adventures in Story Mode. Or choose Explore mode and experience BrightRidge without quests or enemies. Can you find the ancient whale that swims the oceans? Or the hidden ruins that dot the land?

Unlock the power to change into several species and explore BrightRidge from a new perspective. Soar through the sky as a golden eagle or a winged dragon. Run through the forests and a wily fox or dashing deer. Barge through the land as a towering Tree Ent and flutter peacefully among the flowers as a delicate butterfly (a fan favourite!).

Become a nature photographer and take and save beautiful pictures of this gorgeous and vast landscape. Will you photograph an elusive deer drinking by the river? Or perhaps capture a golden sunset amid ancient ruins? Need help hunting the animals down? Use your Spirit View to magically track animals, each with their own habitat and behavior.

Extensive options let you customize almost anything at anytime. Change time of day, turn on Watercolor mode and experience a living painting, add effects and filters and more. On newer devices you can turn up the detail for an even more beautiful and immersive experience.

Legend Spots dot the land waiting to be discovered. Each one tells a bit about the people, places and history of BrightRidge. Or visit the cozy halls of BrightRidge Inn, sit by the fireplace, dance with the guests, or listen to their stories.

It’s all here. Rainstorms, lightning and thunder, light breezes and gusting wind, and quiet snowfalls. Or use the options to change the weather on the fly.

There’s no rush. Feeling panic, anxiety or stress? Choose Explore Mode, breathe, and explore the wild rivers, valleys and waterfalls of BrightRidge at your own pace.

Has Sooooo much Potential

Jimmy D Productions

Wow! So this is what we can do on an iPad now! So bottom line is that this probably won't work on your phone. I downloaded this on my iPhone 6 Plus and after a handful of laggy performances and crashes I decided to put it on my iPad Pro where it works flawlessly. As expected this type of graphical/data stress is predictably slow on older hardware but this opens up the great potential that future iOS hardware has. This is nearing games that you'd see on consoles. It's still very simple, the world is very small, the people are simplistic and repetitive and the battle system needs work BUT what this provides is a look at what's next. I think it's ambitious and bold and is willing to pressure the operating system of the apple product to it's limits. This is what we need to see, exactly how far we can push it for mobile gaming.

I wouldn't say it's completely finished, I wouldn't see it's a masterpiece, but I would say it's a fun game and it's even more fun to see what the iOS can do, from running around as a stag to shifting into a dragon, walking around as a human giant facing off to ents or just being an ent. This game has potential and I'm excited to see what the updates brings. I would recommend being a part of this journey. cheers!

Developer Response

Thanks Jimmy :) In the last update i figured out how to detect different IOS devices, so in the next update i will be starting the game in higher quality on devices like the iPad Pro that have more power. I am also always updating the game (ive been working on it for about 2 years) and am learning new ways to optimize the code, so each update usually performs a bit better as well as having new features. I also like to give people as much control over the environment and the quality settings, so you can customize the game for better visuals, or better speed, or just have fun changing the time of day. I am a solo developer and i appreciate you taking the time to leave this review. it encourages me to keep working hard on these worlds. There are more updates to come and there is a new world coming soon called Nimian Legends Vandgels that will expand on the storyline and explain a few things in BrightRidge (where did that Bot that fell from the sky come from?). It's cool by the way that you tried being a giant against the ents. i know the mechanics are not perfect, but that was something i tried to do to. i didnt even think about it because i make the mechanics separately, and then sometimes when i play i figure out new ways to use them:) One of my favorite things to do is to switch to the gnome and run around to see the world from a tiny perspective. I have even tried in my testing to shrink to the size of an ant. It would need more work because then the grass is the size of trees, but i too can see a lot of ways to ive players like you even more choices in the future. thanks again:)

Inspringly Beautiful And Fun!

The best fantasy exploration app has just been made better by the inclusion of a new story mode. Two full game modes for a low price of one!

This is one of my go-to apps for either relaxing or adventuring. The creator, Protopop, has made an immersive world to dive into and get lost in. This game isn't about finding keys or beating a clock. It's about discovering a world full of life and freedom. You can explore beautiful landscapes, teleport, shape shift into creatures like a fox or dragon, explore using a photo mode and take photos of the surroundings, or enjoy playing with the many filters, effects, and settings to customize the visuals. The music is perfect, the toon outline and burst and depth of field options create one of the most cinematic looks I've experienced on any game on any platform. This is worth way more than $2, so consider yourself lucky to get it at such a great price.

The developer regularly updates his work, and communicates the most of any developer I've seen over on the Toucharcade forums. Check it out and see all of the progress from the first version to this one, as well as his plans for future updates. I'm hoping to be exploring Brightridge for years to come on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Great with much potential

Apparently this game was created by a solo developer named Rob. I’m writing this review in support that he can create more content for this game and others. To the developer,(hopefully you see this) please continue creating. This game is highly enjoyable and worth the little money it costs.

To any gamer, this is console level gaming on iOS. The graphics are excellent and can be manipulated to look even better. The stories are engaging; the story telling is peaceful and soothing. The versatility of the game play is also enjoyable as you can adjust almost everything to your liking. You play as multiple animals/human characters and it is freeing. It’s fun and the odd thing is that there is no typical violence. I enjoy satisfying violence, especially in games (gameloft’s iron blade for instance) but this manages to be intriguing and satisfying without a hint of bloodshed. If you are a gamer with children, this is the perfect mix for young and old.

Get this game.

Developer Response

Wow that a really nice review:) I agree about the violence - i think it has it's place and can be engaging in games, but i didnt want it to be teh focus here. I actually had to think a lot about it because its easiest to put a lot of fighting in. But my neighbor helped me by telling me two things : keep it simple and focus on the characters. The options came about partly because i love having options and cheats, and partly because there are so many devices it can run on that you need options to customize it to each one. So far the huge amount of options has been a fan favorite. I have had some great feedback from parents too - one 5 year old player told her dad she loves turning into a butterfly and just flying across the land:) Im working on big optimizations and updates for the game and also a sequel called Vandgels. I work on the game at night after work almost every day, and it's slow going, but things get done one thing at a time, and after a few months bang a new update. I will keep at it, and its inspiring to get great reviews like this - they encourage me to keep improving the game, expanding the world, and making it better, and it makes me feel good to hear people enjoy the game. Thank you:)
