I Expected an Imrovement After an Update...
Four months ago, I gave he app 5 stars because it works when my iPhone 6 is plugged in, and, an attempt to facilitate an update to add more apps that I can use on my 2016 Frontier Pro 4x (e.g. Waze or Google maps), so that I don't have to look down at it every time there's real time routing updates (XM Traffic/Navigation traffic updates stopped as soon as the 3-month free subscription expired). An update did come out; yet before I can celebrate, the screen is now telling me, "Update required for the app to work." So what happens now? There's really no point of having this app on my phone at all if only that I need it plugged in to access the Call Lists (Phone Book doesn't work either when the vehicle is in motion) while driving, listening to music from my playlists, and to charge the phone - that's it! Text Assistant has been non-existent (since the beginning), contrary to the "features" listed on the Nissan website. Surely we can drive a vehicle without all these nonsense (as most reviewers say), but why do you think the price of your vehicle is over $30K? It's not just the inflation, when you buy one that looked the same in the last decade.
Start Over Nissan
The app has never really worked right from the day I bought the car. First, I can't seem to change any password without calling the customer service line. When it's finally working you have to follow some complicated steps just to get it to connect with the infotainment system. I have to turn the car on, open the app, plug in the phone, and wait anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. If I don't follow the steps in that order it doesn't connect. If I want to use Pandora through the infotainment system I have to make sure the app is connected and on the app screen. Then I go through the options on the car to select Pandora. There's about a 75/25% chance it will connect. If you try to connect to Pandora while your phone is on any other screen but the app it won't find your phone. These are just two of the problems. Nissan needs to take this app back down to concept and get a team who knows what they're doing. Absolute garbage.
H O R R I B L E
Bought a 2016 Murano with Nav and thought this app would be awesome. I have a jeep as well with their info system and it Rocks. For a similarly priced vehicle I expected more. This is the worst. Pandora and iheart don't even show when they should, it doesn't work thru Bluetooth... you actually have to plug it into one specific USB that is in a horrible location. 3/4 of the time it says the app is disconnected and you have to re-enter your password then wait forever for it to say connected. While connected it is useless. Can't text with a iPhone 6, doesn't show all the proper apps, only offers a few apps and really doesn't do much at all? They need to start over and give all owners a free update. This should be able to do so much more. Hey Nissan... call any other auto brand and they can show you the right way to do this. Owners... don't waste your time on this. You will waste way more time then you want. Just use Bluetooth to play music apps.
