NIWO Slumber is a useful application for your Mac that can log out, shut down, restart or put your machine to sleep with a set timer. At any time you can simply restart the timer so the countdown start all over again. You can also choose from a few pop up messages that remind you of the action that will take place minutes before it happens. You can even give NIWO Slumber a try by going to the developers website and downloading a free trial version.
I always think it is ideal to shutdown or at least restart your machine every 24 hours and this app could make it easier to remember and basically do it for you. However unlike an app I reviewed last week “Sleepy”, NIWO Slumber is not able to do force shutdowns. So if you leave Safari open with a few tabs, that will stop the action from taking place. Also there is no way to set a specific time of day to routinely shutdown or restart your machine, only a countdown timer. But if you are having doubts about how useful NIWO Slumber would be for you, then go and visit their site and download a free trial before you make any assumptions.
