Buggy, limited functionality
This app has an incredibly annoying bug where the app gets confused between landscape and horizontal orientation with a monthly train pass. This happens pretty much every time you open the app because the monthly pass is the first thing that shows when you launch the app. Double clicking the home button temporarily resolves the screen orientation until you open it back up.
App functionality is limited. No offline mode which is disappointing since train tunnels and train routes are spotty for service. If the app pulls down departure times in "departure vision," why can't I go to another screen and back and still see the departure times without the app having to reload? This should be cached. Also, no rail maps or delay notifications.
Not complete train service
The app works fine for single ticket purchases, especially if you're running to the station and can't wait in a line. That, however, is completely derailed (forgive the pun) during trips to Camden when you're making a tight connection at Trenton from the Northeast Corridor to the River Line. With minutes between arrival and departure, it'd be nice to purchase my ticket comfortably on the way into Trenton instead of rushing out of the station to a River Line pulling away while I'm trying to buy my paper ticket. The River Line is part of the Light Rail service of NJTransit (I checked), so why can't I buy a ticket for it just like all the other trains?
OK but incomplete
Old NJT app dis not have tickets but the train search was great and included alerts. I get alerts via text now but I get them all. If I had on app I could zero in on trains I care about.
The app shows all day schedule for a trip - needs to have a time/date search feature with the next two hours as a default. Also would lime to see all of a trains stips on the app. The old NJT app did this also so I know how many stops until I get off if I'm not on my normal train.
A positive is that it is easy to buy tickets, trip, weekly or monthly and show them to the conductor.
