FINDING YOUR LOST OR STOLEN PHONE
A lost or stolen iPhone can introduce mobile phone security risks, especially if it contains sensitive personal data and is not locked via password protection. Your privacy can be exposed if the finder of the mobile device has malicious intent and accesses your address book, photos, videos, and text messages without your consent.
Fortunately, phone tracker apps can locate and track the movement of your iPhone, remotely trigger an alarm, and provide additional security controls via web-based management. Also known as phone trackers, phone locators, phone GPS or “find my iPhone” apps, these solutions are essential when it comes to mobile phone security.

Bait and Switch
I installed Norton Internet Security as part of Xfinity account. They offer the ability to extend this to 5 total devices. However the “mobile” versions are not Virus Protection/Security apps at all. They are simple redundant device location and contacts backup features you mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, etc) already have. More so, the app requires you to permanently share you location and ALL you contacts with Norton. In going back through the lengthy T&Cs we’re asked to accept, you give your permission to let Norton use this data for market and commercial purposes. So who is protecting whom here?
Norton Mobile Security does not work on iPhone. I try to do a backup on my contact list but receive a message that there is not enough space. I’m asked to delete old backup sets but do not see or know how to access this data. You would think the app would display them? I use their chat and the person on the other end is unable to help other than escalate the matter to people that want to remote into your machine. How absurd is that for a security firm who’s intent is to provide security for its customers? Please fix your app to work on iPhone or don’t provide the service.
Despite the fact location and notifications are turned on the app itself must be turned on within the device in order to find its location or to make the scream.
It also failed to recognize devices that were on line and when it did manage to locate a device it was 200 feet of and posted the wrong street address. Apples find my phone is able to accomplish that very easily so if you have an apple device dont even bother with
Security for 5 devices, nope. Completely useless on Apple. Nothing more than a locator.
