The idea is simple: why watch video on your iPad and scramble to write notes in your notebook? Why not use the iPad to do both? NoteReel allows you to watch a video - whether that be a school lecture, editing session, or movie - and capture notes and screenshots of the video at the same time.

--- Edit

While your video playing you can create or browse your notes. Let NoteReel pause the video for you when you need some time to catch up writing your notes. In addition to jotting down some thoughts, NoteReel will capture a screenshot of the video for that note, letting you quickly browse through important video bookmarks.

--- Browse

Since it's so easy to take notes with NoteReel, there might not be much need to always play the video. Browse your notes and screenshots with the beautiful notebook layout in NoteReel. This isn't your typical notebook... you can start and stop the video anytime from any page.

--- Share

Want to take your notes on the go but your iPad battery has died? NoteReel supports AirPrint and Email sharing (with more to come!) straight out the box. Email or print your notes for a project with one tap.

Retina ready!

NoteReel let's you work with more than just homemade videos

I bought NoteReel on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the videos available in your "video library" are more than just those you have shot with your iPad and stored locally or in iTunes - the library of available videos also includes iTunes music videos and movies, as well as any video podcasts you might have stored on your device. NoteReel is a great resource for students, teachers, professionals, or anyone else needing to take lecture notes, organize info, or write a film critique for school or a job assignment all while on the go to later use for clarification, study, or reference. NoteReel can be likened to the many audio note taking apps in the App Store in that it allows you to create notes and other points of reference within your media - except obviously in this case the media is digital video. I am shocked that there are so few ratings (and I assume buyers) of this great app. I can only assume that NoteReel is yet another example of the many great apps that are constantly overlooked among the many thousands available on the App Store; a fact which is quite a pity since the app itself is truly brilliant and also much needed in this ever-increasing digital age.

Great app.....but....

Great app....but......the reason I gave it only 4 stars is because there is one crucial element missing -a shortcut button that allows you to rewind the video by 15s. Think about the typical workflow - you hear something in the video that you want to create a note on but by the time usually you want to rewind a little BEFORE setting the bookmark and associated note. Right now you have to fidget with the music time/scroll bar which is really hit and miss in terms of rewinding just a little. Hope to see this incorporated in an update soon! Thanks for a great app. Also, would be good to see the app extended to handle audio podcasts in a similar way!

Great App!!!!

I love this app there are only a few things I would like to see before giving it five stars.

1. Folders - If you could add folders so the projects can be grouped together that would be wonderful.

2. Project Organization - If you could allow projects to be reordered.

3. Enable Meta Data on Videos - I think it would be a lot easier to find videos if they were organized by episodes and series etc. I organize a lot of the videos I take notes on as T.V. Series so they group together better. So looking through everything alphabetically can be tedious.

4. Share With Other Programs - Enabling the ability to share with other software associated with PDFs. This may be nitpicking on my part but I think this enables an offline functionality that is missing.

5. Audio Files - Because this is a timeline based note taker I think adding the ability to take notes off of audio files as well would be beneficial to most users.

Thank you for filling a void in the usefulness of my Ipad. Great Job.
