Notifyr - Receive iOS notifications on your Mac

By Arnoldus Wilhelmus Jacobus van Dijk

Open iTunes to buy and download apps.

Description

NOTIFYR REQUIRES AN IPHONE 4S OR NEWER. ALSO CHECK IF YOUR MAC IS COMPATIBLE WITH NOTIFYR IN THE SCREENSHOTS.

Notifyr shows all your incoming notifications from your iPhone on your Mac.

With Notifyr, you’ll never miss a notification again: you can keep your phone in your pocket and still know what’s going on. You can read your incoming WhatsApp messages, see who's following you on Instagram or read any of the other kind of notifications from any app on your iPhone. It's also possible to mute notifications from any app you like.

Once paired, you’ll never need to open the app on your phone again. When the connection gets lost, Notifyr will automatically reconnect to your phone once it becomes available again.

Because Notifyr uses Bluetooth Low Energy, you can keep using Notifyr all day without it draining your battery.

What's New in Version 1.0.1

Thanks for using Notifyr!
Make sure to launch the app after updating, as Notifyr won't be able to reconnect otherwise.

New in 1.0.1:
- Improved connection stability.
- Faster reconnecting.
- UI changes.

Customer Reviews

Was great for a while.

I was using this app with a 2009 Macbook Pro and a Bluetooth 4 dongle. It worked great. I recently got a new Macbook Pro and had a few problems at first. The developer was quick to respond and help me resolve my issues. However, I recently started using Knock, the app that lets you unlock your Mac via Bluetooth and it’s not working when Notifyr is running. The Knock devs say Notifyr does something non-standard with Bluetooth. Whether it really does or not, I would have hoped the devs of both apps would work things out. Unfortunately, the dev of Notifyr has not responded to the other devs or me about this problem after multiple attempts. I prefer the convenience of Knock, so no Notifyr until the dev decides to respond.

Great concept; Poor execution

I have wanted iOS notifications on my MBP for some time and Notifyr was exactly the solution - in theory. Setup wasn't bad. There was an OSX bug that required constant logging in, but was fixed in an update. However, my iPhone batter begun draining extraordinarily quickly. I confirmed it was about -700mAh discharge (should be ab -200mAh idle) and the culprit was the BTLE server. After removing Notifyr and restarting the Bluetooth radio, the discharge rate dropped back down below -200mAh.

The TL;DR is that the app is somehow misusing low energy Bluetooth, which is causing my battery to drain quickly. Since a battery life > 3 hrs is important to me, I've uninstalled Notifyr for the time being, but will be willing to try it out again in a future update.

Cool concept. Got all the way through purchase and downloading of the OSX platform, when it notified me that my imac was incompatible. Guess I'll start using this when I purchase a new computer in a few years.

UPDATE: updated gear to new mpb retina and iPhone 6. Still doesn't work half the time. And notifyr is constantly wanting to "make changes" in Yosemite, though it isn't adding new applications or anything. If you cancel, as to not allow notifyr to make changes, it continues to pop up a window until you allow it to. And that's when I deleted it. Bummer it turned out to be a waste. Stupid 1st world problems.
