Fumbling for the name of that NPC can totally break the flow of your narrative. At last, you can have the power of a random name generator in the palm of your hand. So when the sneaky merchant leans in and whispers, "listen... this deal, it's all good... you can trust... uhmmm... you know you can rely on the famous... err..." you can quickly turn to your iPhone and find a suitable name.
Who knows, maybe that name will open up a whole new narrative thread for you. No matter what, it will be big fun in a small package.
We've currently working with five name dictionaries, but plan to add more in the near future based on your feedback. Want cyberpunk? Let us know! Want World of Warcraft races? Let us know! If it has a distinctive setting we'll add it in with your feedback. From Albion to Xen'drik, we've got you covered.

I'm not entirely sure how this generates names, or if it is using some kind of actual "dictionary" for names of each of these fantasy races. There are some odd names for just about every race and sometimes it appears as if random letters (and an umlaut or another race-appropriate character) are thrown together. Since you can generate more than one you can usually find some that work.
Some nice improvements would be:
-The ability to save any names you like to a "Favorites List" and have a list for each race/theme. Then add the ability to email or export your lists in some form so you can view them easier and in other places besides your iPhone.
-Add some Races/Classes from the Diablo and Warcraft Series'. Most classes in those are actually races by themselves and that's the orignal reason I sought this out.
-I'm not sure if you already do this but see if there are any actual race languages made by someone to use (assuming that they aren't copy-written or something else that would prevent use). I think Tolkien made languages for each of his races and an actual dictionary for a race could give a better unity to the names.
-Generic Medieval, Mob-era and futuristic/cyberpunk
-Sith, Jedi and other Star Wars races for when the Kights of the Old Republic MMORPG finally arrives
Good, could use improvement
This app does contain some rather odd names. I have no plans to use fjkhikr the dwarf. That being said, I really like this app. This is one of the things I need most for my games, and I was quite surprised no one had done this yet. I am thrilled to see that you have stepped up to the plate and developed it. While there are unusable names, several of them are quite good, and with the ability to generate up to 25 names at once, I'm sure I'll find at least one good name each time.
Cute gnome names :)
The gnome names are cute. You could improve the quality of some names, but there's almost always a few good ones, and usually I just need one.
