What's New in Version 1.6.19
The election's over. But the new president doesn't officially take office until January 20th. There's lots to unpack before then – the aftermath of the election, the end of the Obama era, and what a new administration will bring. You'll find those stories and more in the brand new Road To Inauguration deep dive collection. All picked by the NPR Politics team. Come back over and over. It's always ready when you need to catch up.
Thanks for listening and for supporting public radio.
Love it, but needs improvement
I've never written an app review before, but I use this app so much and would really like to see some things fixed if possible. I would love to see a "thumbs down" button of sorts to go with the "interesting" button, there are several clips such as "sounds of the state" that I am not interested in and play fairly often and it would be nice to mark them so they aren't played again. Also, I would like to see some sort of scrubbing instead of just rewind 15 seconds and skip entire show. Lastly, on occasion, when I turn off my car mid-episode and then get back in later, I am started with the national newscast instead of being able to finish the episode. That seemed like a lot of negative, but other than those three things, I love this app and still use it all the time.
Use with CarPlay
Good app if you have unlimited data. Very data heavy. Love the follow feature to catch those shows that aren't at a convenient time on my local station. Minus one star because if I have to pause it and come back to a story a few hours later the app has reset and the story is lost. They have a good save for later feature though. And a pretty good search. I love the skip story feature. It actually has less ads than my local station which is nice, but I doubt that that will last. I'm a sustaining member so trying to keep the ads down. Works ok with CarPlay in my chevy. A few bugs here and there and sometimes it won't play. Not sure where the breakdown is there.
Very likeable but...
This app does meet some marks when it comes to comparisons to Pandora in that you are surprised with content you find likable-or not-as you go through your listening experience. I like that a lot.
The frustrating part is how glitchy it can be and there are some feature navigations that could be improved. For example, sometimes I will pause a program on to have it re-start once I have closed out and want to quit listening. This has happened on two different iPhones.
As for navigation I would like to have access to my "Save for Later" pieces on the main face-not swipe then scroll down.
