With Tollmate, managing your NTTA TollTag account just got a little easier and much faster. The official mobile app for NTTA places all the information you need to view, manage and update your account in the palm of your hand. This version of Tollmate allows you to access account information, calculate the cost of a trip, view a real-time traffic map and even call for roadside assistance within one simple click from your handheld device.

Tollmate is a great match for anyone looking to travel around the region quicker, easier and happier! In fact, you don’t have to be a TollTag account holder to download Tollmate. There are many features you can still use to make your drive easier!

All usernames and passwords used to access account information through the Tollmate mobile app are encrypted and are only stored locally on the user’s mobile device if the user chooses to store the information. However, these apps are not authorized by the NTTA and the NTTA does not guarantee security and privacy of account information (e.g., banking, credit/debit card, email address, etc.) accessed through use of unauthorized apps. I received a toll bill from when we apparently used a toll road in Dallas, TX, on the way to the military car shipment center to drop our car off for shipment overseas.
Of course I immediately went online to pay the bill, but the website didn't load, I even downloaded the app, but no success. After 2 days I contacted the NTTA and got the response that the website/app is not accessible from outside the US and that I'd have to call in order to pay. With time difference and their limited business hours there is only a small window every day and in addition to this I'm forced to pay for and international phone call.
Their phone menu is also questionable, it took me forever to get through it to be able to speak to a real person.
After having been stationed overseas multiple times this is the first time ever I've encountered an organization that doesn't let you access their website from outside the US to make a payment. DMV, USPS, insurance, banks, passports, voter registration, I could go on forever, no problems handling everything from overseas! Only the NTTA can't do it.
Please rethink your silly policy! You're making life unnecessarily more difficult for members of the military and their families stationed overseas.
Dallas, TX, has the only car shipment center for us between Atlanta, GA and San Diego, CA, so lots of people will run into the same problem.

Works but design is stuck in the past

I only use this for looking at my account activity and balance which works fine. YMMV on the other functions that I didn't test. Despite my complaints (below), I'll give it a 4/5 since it gets the job done with minimal hassle and no obvious bugs.

Complaints:
1. Does not have native support for larger screen "Plus" phones, i.e. the iPhone 6/6s/7 Plus. The app still works but the phone is forced to go into a low-resolution mode. Not a deal breaker but it's tacky.

2. Uses out-of-date design widgets/styles. The app looks like it was written to fit in with iOS 4/5/6's look and feel. Again, not a deal breaker but it's tacky and makes the app appear to be stuck several years in the past.

3. No Touch ID support. Touch ID has been supported since the iPhone 5s (Sep. 2013). The app does not support it despite the developers having 3+ years to do so. Instead you have to either log in with username/password or a 4 digit PIN. The 4 digit PIN isn't bad but a fingerprint would be more secure and convenient.
