Numberlys presents a fanciful depiction of the origins of the alphabet and is the newest interactive epic from Moonbot Studios, creators of The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Numberlys is a story App celebration of the early fantasy epics King Kong, Metropolis and Flash Gordon with a dollop of the Marx Brothers, a splash of the Fleischer Studios technicolor Superman and a little bit of the 1939 New York World’s Fair.
Numberlys is huge in scope. It's an adventure! A mystery! A game! And a story!
It's a new way to entertain, learn and rediscover our storytelling "golden age".

This app/story is perfect. (as far as children's apps go) I have not seen an app with as much production as this one. It has all the elements of a classic full length animated film. The story, visuals and audio draws in kids as well as adults. My daughter who is not yet 3 has been playing it multiple times daily since purchasing, and I'm not sick of it. She is now an expert on the alphabet. If fact, I still play along, hum and sing with her to it. The music is AWESOME and I think goes along way in the impression of quality workmanship with this app. I would have liked more - more story, more gameplay. Also a little more variety with the gameplay, however this does not affect my view overall of this app. I think a good story should leave you wanting more. The price seems high, but you can tell the amount of work that went into it without any adds or sales pitches you still see in other paid apps. And if it can keep your kid entertained for months and not drive you nuts, it's well worth the price... I would love to see another app, not necessarily a sequel, but a story, in the same style, of an opposite world with only letters where then they invent numbers...
First - to those who don't like to read the game description before buying - this is not a full fledged game. It is a story app with interactive elements aimed primarily at the younger crowd but can still be enjoyed by adults. There is no score, no hit points, no game center, no achievements, no leaderboards, no pvp.
Second - this work oozes charm and style and worth more than those insipid freemium apps plaguing the market. A lot of thought and love went into this app. Production is top notch and someone actually thought of a very unique and engaging story.
Third - If you like apps produced for a mass audience that uses the most common denominator to quickly grab your attention and your money.. go download that free game and spend $200 on IAPs instead.
But if you fancy a quirky underrated app and want to support developers who are more interested in creating a unique experience, you know what to do.
Numberlys not worth 5.99
For 20 minutes of game play this was way to expensive for an app. After the game was over I thought that was the introduction not the beginning middle and end. So much potential but instead was hugely disappointing. I have played far better for way less.
Sadly this game is a rip off at $5.99. It should of been .99 cents but knowing how it is even a dollar is to much.
