What's New in Version 3.6.2
This update contains stability improvements and bug fixes.
It got put back together after a boatload of mental anguish!
Alright, I left a damning angry review some of what I said in my fit of anger holds true, but 5 hours later and digging around for the answer I finally found the fix. I risk losing all my data from 2011 until now and wasn’t sure I would ever see it again from my Numbers spreadsheets when an update failed and the KEEP WAITING on the app was stuck on KEEP WAITING for a month now. I braved the delete app and reinstalled it. When it came back up I had none of my files available from iCloud. Eventually after searching other users quandries I found in an obscure place under iCloud iCloud drive a radioswithch toggled to off on numbers. Well in passive aggressive honesty I said I was done with Apple and cussing without the cussing, but presto magic my files and I are reunited and it feels so good. So though I went through agony…. I admit. Apple products just work…If you are intuitive and persistent to think like some genuis in a cubicle.
I WANT SOPHISTICATION!
While I’m no geek, I’m still a nerd with some simple demands.
1) The sorting is fine until I had to work with merged cells (it takes the merged A1 and B1 and you have to look for B1 *weird)
2) Filtering is cruel to me. I want the option to make a few filters and select to work with one or up to three of them, but it gives me the option of any or all. Nor does the all give me the choice of my wanting the 2nd to work as And or But to the 1st filter, just Or. Wow, how annoying, because that means that I have to delete a filter rule when I want to see something in a certain way, then put it back in to return it.
3) After I get past 220 rows, it starts slowing down, and once you include relational formulae for other tabs, I’ve gone to the loo and came back for the adjustments. I wish they kept up their database from years back. It’s time for me to upload to Quicken or Filemaker Pro.
some big steps backward over older versions
Numbers used to be such a great spreadsheet! But nowadays they’re trying too hard to imitate an iPad app on the Mac. The result is an app that is more confusing and hard to use, and is lacking in some major functionality, such as being able to view/edit your document in “print view” mode.
That’s an absolutely critical feature for me, because I routinely use (old) Numbers to generate documents I’m going to print and mail to clients. If I can’t easily see how my charts and other objects fit onto a page, then laying out the page to look decent is really hard.
