Coming Soon: Percentage button & localised decimals!
Numerical is a calculator without equal. Whether you’re doing simple math, advanced brackets and exponentiation, or need a running history of your previous work, Numerical has the answer.
"This could be the greatest calculator ever" - TUAW
"Numerical is exactly what a simple iOS app should be: well thought out, well-designed and easy to use." - BGR
“The way Numerical works makes more sense than Apple’s app for me” - MacStories
“For someone who’s looking for a simple and elegant calculator app that fits iOS 7’s design language, Numerical is a superb choice.” - Beautiful Pixels
“One of my favorite apps I’ve seen this year.” - The Industry
“Numerical has now replaced the stock iOS calculator app for me.” - Tools & Toys
The equals button was invented when computers were the size of furniture and it’s time to move on. As you type Numerical displays the answer instantly & your current calculation is always visible.
As you work Numerical automatically saves finished calculations to the History View. When you need to revisit an old problem it's right there waiting for you.
Use easy swipe gestures to undo, redo and save the current calculation.
Use a simple, yet powerful, brackets system to solve complex problems.
COPY AND PASTE
Tap the answer or calculation to copy them elsewhere. You can paste text from any app and Numerical will remove non-maths digits and solve it.
Numerical knows to display very large answers with scientific notation, and if an answer is approximate (due to recurrence or floating point decay) it will use an “approximately equal to" sign (≈)
Have you ever divided by zero? Tried to exponentiate a googolplex? If Numerical can’t figure out the answer it will tell you what went wrong in plain english, not just yell ERROR!

- Minor font changes on the Info page.
I really like this calculator a lot
I’ve used many calculators. So far, this one is the cleanest I’ve used; the UI is very well designed. Simple but sweet.
Also, please don’t add any more buttons. IMHO, this app works BECAUSE the buttons are the size that they are, and, we don’t have useless features.
For those asking for the % button, well, learn to move decimal places...
One request: please add custom color feature.
A solid choice
I just switched from a very similar app called Sumhold . Numerical wins the UI battle hands down and I like the way it handles history better. I'd like the ability to change color schemes, and would like it to handle mixed operator chained equations more like Sumhold. Numerical seems more finicky about requiring parenthesis.
Sorry, I'm biased.
It's been inspiring watching Andrew develop his programming skills at such a pace that he could whip something out like this on only a few short months. As someone who has only spoken with him online, I still feel incredibly proud of all the work he produces.
