Numu Tracker can keep you up to date on music by the artists you love the most. Part to-do list, part reminders and alerts, Numu gives you the tools to ensure you never miss out on new albums.
The main view of Numu shows you a list of the most recent albums and EPs released to date. Tap on a release to get a quick link to listen to the release on Apple Music (if available), or to view more releases by that artist. You can also switch tabs to Upcoming to view any forthcoming releases.
When you register for an account, you can create a personalized list of music to listen to by following artists one-by-one or importing the artists from your Apple Music library. On your Settings screen, you can configure filters to display different types of releases (including Album, EP, Single, Live, Soundtracks, Remixes, and Other).
The blue line glowing next to the album art indicates a release you need to listen to. Swipe left on a release to mark it as "Listened". On the Your Account screen you can view personal statistics, like how many artists and releases you follow, and how many of them you've marked as listened.
Notification reminders are available for free! There's three types of notifications: "New Releases Available" -- Get notified on the day new releases come out by your artists; "New Release Announced" -- Get notified when an upcoming release is added; and "More Releases Added" -- Get notified when older releases by your artists are added to the system. You can buy time in 30 day or 365 day increments.
Currently Numu only supports Apple Music. Numu Tracker does not play music, and it does not automatically track your listening history. Numu does not work with advertisers and does not share your information with any third parties under any circumstances. Numu is open source and free of charge.

Shines as a music reminder service
What's really interesting and unique about this app is the ability to keep a list of music you intend to listen to, but haven't yet. For me this has always been a distinct hole in my music listening workflow with no clear or easy answer—I don't always want to add an album I'd like to listen to to my library, and when I do anyway because how else will I remember it, my library tends to become an unproductive mess.
This app lets you "follow" artists; when you do this, it adds all their albums and EPS to the to do list, which you can mark off manually, and when the artist releases a new piece of music it notifies you. While there have been plenty of apps that do allow notification of new music, a list of music I'd like to try that I haven't yet is brand new and extremely useful for me.
I hope future iterations of this app leans into its unique to do list feature. What I'd really like to see is being able to add individual albums to the to do list; I'd also love to be able to Share an album or artist from Apple Music to NuMu to add it to my to do list. centering the app design on the personal to do list rather than the useless global to do list would also be a step up for me.
This is a really well done beginning to this app and I'm excited to see where it goes in the future. Not perfect yet but a great start.
Will replace Record Bird for me
Been a Record Bird user for the last year, but that app is shutting down this month. This app appears to be one of the few left that supports Apple Music. So far the UI is great and doesn’t have all the useless extras Record Bird included.
Wish there was a way to sort the Your Artists page alphabetically versus starting with releases first.
Would also love to be able to add upcoming releases to my calendar from the app.
Thanks for your feedback! I'm glad that you like the app. In an upcoming release I'll re-instate the ability to sort the Your Artists list. The idea to add upcoming releases to your calendar is interesting! I'll add that to my list. Hopefully Numu can earn your stars!
A must have for Apple Music
This has been the missing piece from Apple Music for me. I get notifications every time a new artist I follow releases new music. Instead of just hoping I find it in passing, this makes sure I know. It’s super reliable and easy to use. So happy with it.
