You got it NY, a subway app thats free and doesn't suck.
You get the real! map, all the lines, updates (gotta have internet for that one though), a map with location, subway stations and pretty colors. Yup, all that for free.
Let me know if you have any "new feature" requests!
Lo nuevo en la versión 1.1.2

Superb - a peerless offline NYC transit map collection
As an iPod Touch user, little annoys me more than having an app, especially a navigation app, scold me for not having a wifi connection and fail to, say, show me a cached version of the last data it had retrieved while I'm out and about. This app is awesome because it doesn't deepen on a data connection to do it's thing, to give you about as much NYC transit map info as you'd ever want: no more trying to find the big map poster down in the subway or the weird little one-route-only bus maps posted to (some) bus stops. If you're already familiar with New York and how to get around, more or less, you may even find this app more useful than others that compute your route for you, for instance Apple Maps, HopStop, Google Maps, if you're not bound take take a complicated route for the first time. Kudos and big thanks to the developer(s)
Another half baked transit app
Info: This app has an outdated subway map, using the graphic from July 2012 instead of the more recent one. This loses points. To its credit, there are bus maps too, and a LIRR map.
Performance & Presentation: The app has map and list mode (albeit a bunch of icons for line symbols instead of a proper list), which is absolutely necessary. However. it lacks retina resolution graphics, which is rather inexcusable in October 2012. Also, the bus/rail maps are hidden in a separate tab, which perhaps could have been done better. Finally, it took a moment for me to figure out which rail map I was looking at, since the rail map is simply labeled "Rail" and not LIRR. (It could have been MetroNorth or whatever.) The app seems to perform decently in most cases. The route images, seem to be zoomed and therefore clipped, and so unusable. Also, tapping on the Information/service change toggle appears to do nothing until I get an alert "betting" that I don't have an Internet connection. Fail.
Perfect just couple of more things to add..
First off, I just want to say that I love this app. One of the few apps that I use everyday. Love how you guys made the app free, like how it should be. Two thumbs up for that. Now just update to a higher resolution map (I know u guys updated it in the past, but can we get one thats even higher the the current one :D) and also, the last thing is of course the icon of the app, doesn't really look good. U guys should cone up with a new icon design, maybe hold some type of contest, cause I have a lot of ideas in mind. In all, great app and I recommend everyone who lives or comes visits NYC.
