# Fun Facts
Celebrating 75 Years of The New York Times Crossword: In 1977, Eugene T. Maleska became The Times’s third crossword editor. A former superintendent of schools in the East Bronx, and a lover of Latin, opera and poetry, he brought a new level of culture and seriousness to the puzzle.
Can no longer make in APP purchases
Now when I try to do a purchase there is no confirm button on the bottom half of the screen. On the top half on the right side it says double click to confirm. This banner is slightly moving but the item I am supposed to double click never appears on the screen. I have an iPhone X and have recently purchased Midi puzzles but now I can no longer purchase. I also looked at a annual subscription but the same screen issues.
Good News. I ended up googling my question and found the answer. That double click message: on the X phone on the upper right side there is a button one can push. So when it said to double click that’s the button they want you to push. So I ended up purchasing an annual subscription. Thought I’d have access to all the $2 - $4 Midi puzzles but that’s not the case. Of course you get access to the big Daily puzzle. But for the Midi’s you have to pay extra as if you had no subscription. BUT I do have access to the Midi archives and thus I have access to 28-31 puzzles for every month of archive.
You got a 5 star rating from me on my initial review when I was having technical problems. So no need to update that.
I don't get it!
Why, when I want to purchase one of the various offerings, do I get the "free trial". I don't want a "free trial" because, I suspect that after the "free trial", I'll automatically be rolled into a big-money paid subscription that is over my budget. Do you think that you'll just automatically charge me through Apple Pay once the "free trial" is over? You offer various versions. Why can't I just choose the $6.-- version? (what ever it is since the title is cut off and there is no description of any of the varied offerings. I feel like I got wrangled into it without any upfront explanation. I tried to get rid of this app but, so far, no go. I will not tolerate the slippery, shoddy bait and switch tactic. Get me out!
Love it, but no night mode?
Great app, and access to the archive is a steal. I’d love it if the developer would add a night mode. My eyes are quite sensitive to light in dark settings. Seems like it would be very simple to implement. Others have complained about navigation, I find the app to be very intuitively designed.
