CRASH has appeared as an answer in The New York Times Crossword eight times and BUG has appeared 15 times. No wonder SORRY has appeared 16 times.
Great App! Great Service!
Thanks for the prompt bug fix to the second to last bug fix! Bugs happen.
I have bought NYT crossword books and done their puzzles in the paper since I was a teen. There are none better. And, I loved this app despite the intermediary that provided it. I love it much more since NYT took over the app and improved it. Now, NYT says a silence setting is coming with the next update. In anticipation of that fix to the jarring jingle, I recommend this app without reservation. It delivers the best crosswords in a user-friendly app. AND the NYT listens to user input and makes regular updates. This app is well worth its new price.
Great App, Consistently Improving
[UPDATE: Just want to say thanks for fixing the recent crashing issue ridiculously fast. Less than 24 hours and it's been taken care of. I love how dependable the new regime is; even when there is a technical problem it's dealt with swiftly. Sorry for the undeserved negative reviews by impatient people in the interim.]
Worlds better than any other crossword-solving app that is or has ever existed. It is getting better still with every update.
To those people complaining about the subscription cost:
Although $40 is, in point of fact, a fair price for a year's worth of high-quality crosswords, that is beside the point. The app designers have no control over what the Times decides to charge for subscriptions. Leaving a bad review for the app because of this is petty and thoughtless.
Great app, especially with subscription
I love having access to the daily crossword puzzle and I find the subscription fee well worth it to have access to the full archives. The puzzles become available at 10 p.m. the night before which is a nice treat as well (6 p.m. on Sunday for the Monday puzzle). I wish the user interface for checking and revealing squares, words, and the puzzle was a little more fluid but that is my only complaint.
