I can't see how anyone could ask for more. Not too many years ago, I was delivering paper copies of the newspaper, one house at a time. Now, I just tap on an icon on my cell phone and the paper is right there for me to read. To those complaining about the refresh time when you first open the app, I say I am glad it works this way. I don't want it to be busy working in the background keeping up to date while I'm using another app. Let the paper use my reaources when I decide to read it and not while I'm busy doing other things. All in all, it's a clean and neat way to read the Times, which is exactly what I want.
Amazing coverage of the world
Want to know what the most important things going on in the world are? Let the experts at the world's greatest newspaper curate a list of need-to-know briefings, top articles and fascinating stories both from the New York Times itself and curated from across the internet. Totally worth the discounted subscription cost—I read it first thing in the morning and last thing at night, and every time I open it I find myself marking the majority of stories available as "save to read later."
Choppiness, while still there, is greatly improved in the latest iteration.
Your personal news briefing
All the news you need to know in a quick read. But while this app may feature bite-sized news, there's also links to full articles and videos should you wish to dive in deeper. The quality is top-notch and updated throughout the day.
The only downside is the technical execution of the app. For example, almost every time I open the app it shows outdated content for a while then suddenly updates after a delay. The content I was browsing disappears.
