Description

generates a simulated sound of ocean waves.

Ocean Waves generates a simulated sound of ocean waves.

Unlike the recorded sound of ocean waves, the simulated sound of ocean waves does not repeat for hours.

You can save the simulated sound of ocean waves as an audio file (up to 400 minutes), and burn a CD (up to 79.9 minutes with iTunes) or download to your iPod from iTunes.

I hope this helps you relax, sleep at night, and wake up in the morning.

• Timers: Wake up and sleep timers
• Noise generators: Pink noise and brown noise
• Wave simulator: Wave-like amplitude modulation
• AppleScript scripting support

Visit our website to listen to the 3-minute sample ocean waves sound.

NOTE: The iTunes or Music app doesn't accept caf files directly. You can open the Ocean Waves caf file using QuickTime Player, export it as an "Audio Only" m4a file from the File menu, open the iTunes or Music app, and "Add to Library..." or "Import..." the m4a file from the File menu.

Works well with macOs Big Sur

I love this app because you can easily customize the amount of bass sound. Be sure to go to Menu > Preferences. Enable Boos Sound Level and adjust the sound with the Light Wave and Heavy Wave sliders. I personally disable the Amplitude Generator so that I have a constant volume in both left and right ears in my headphones. I find that increasing Heavy Wave significantly helps to block out nearby conversations. I use 75% Light and 100% Heavy.

DOES N0T WORK! ,

This app does not work

THe application does not work reliably and often plays nothing at all. Have messed with this, and it produces no sounds whatsoever. The link for support is also bogus. STAY AWAY!

Great for concentration or sleeping!

I used this app extensively in college to help keep external noise at bay in the day (roommates) and to help me sleep at night (loud city). It’s the best “white noise” generator I’ve used on the Mac in many years. It combines pink noise and brownian noise (aka brown noise) for a very nice balance of random noise. Most apps will only let you listen to one at a time and usually include true white noise which is very high pitched and annoying. Both pink and brown noise sound lower and are more soothing to listen to.

To help keep external noise from distracting you I suggest turning off the “Amplitude Generator” which will keep the noise level consistent. When you want to relax or feel like you’re on the beach, turn the “Amplitude Generator” back on and feel the waves wash over you :)

It would be great if you could enable and disable this without having to go into the application’s preferences, but it’s not awful.
