The OECD Factbook App presents 100 economic indicators in a format specially designed for your iPhone. Now, wherever you are, you have easy access to a comprehensive statistical picture of the world’s major economies from the most reliable source: OECD.

The OECD Factbook is organised around 12 themes such as population and migration, macroeconomic trends, and globalization. Each indicator includes a table showing the latest available data for the 30 OECD countries. When available, it also shows data from countries with which the OECD has close co-operation such as Brazil, Russian Federation, India, Indonesia, China and South Africa.

The OECD is one of the world’s largest publishers in the fields of Economics and Public Policy. It is well-known for its authoritative, internationally comparable statistics, analysis, and outlooks, and for its groundbreaking online service, SourceOECD.

A handy app to have for those interested...

....in quality of life indicators, population data, migration, etc. Each year the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) publishes these indicators. Most of the data in this app is from 2007. Some data dates back to 2005. If you want the most up-to-date data available, a link on each page will take you to the OECD website. However, 2009 data is not free, and in some instances can be quite costly. So if you don't mind having slightly out-of-date data, but right at your fingertips, then this free app is a real bargain. If you've never seen this info before I really ask that people take a look because some of the information might surprise you. For instance, if you think childhood obesity is a problem in the US, you would be right. But which country is first in childhood obesity? Which ranks lowest? Which countries report the highest quality-of-life stats, and again which are lowest? Fascinating information and well worth taking a few minutes to peruse. If you don't like it simply delete it. But try it first...

Good fingertip app on OECD countries

The master OECD database of major country level indicators. They occasionally do make data updates it seems. Wish they had easy direct links to the hard dataset on their site and email forwarding options.

Excellent data source, but ...

What a great idea. Makes an excellent reference for a history lesson. Now to become a useful business tool it needs the latest data portrayed and contrasted in a variety of ways. Kudos to the OECD!
