Dodge falling sea life and accumulate mega-points in this wacky avoider game that is even more ridiculous than it sounds. Featuring tilt controls, rumble effects (iPhone only), and highscore leaderboards for competing globally or against your Facebook friends.
This is a mobile version of the Flash game we released in 2007. Tilt your device to control the direction of your player. Avoid the falling sea life while trying to collect stars for extra points, grenades to clear some space (tap anywhere to set one off), super shoes for extra speed, force field bubbles for extra protection, and even an uzi to let off some steam on those bouncing blubberous mammals.
You can gain an extra 500 points for each grenade you collect past your maximum of 5, and another 500 points for picking up a shield while you've already got one active. You'll also be rewarded with a sweet 250 points for each animal you eliminate with the uzi, grenade, or shield. And please don't feel bad, these are not endangered species after all. Oh wait...
I keep getting suckered into games by reading awesome reviews. It must be that some ultra casual gamers are still impressed by tilting, as I found very little to hold my interest here. It must be that these are the same gamers who rave about Doodle Jump. To see how a real simple and casual game should play, please check out Tilt to Live. All you do is tilt in that game too, but the similarities quickly end. With this Manatee game, you basically run back and forth, while in Tilt to Live you increasingly become an expert at tilt ballet by weaving through 100's of enemies. For the record, casual games do not have to be so simple as to only keep the interest of the most casual gamer. Casual games should shoot for that fine line between being simple enough for the masses, but also engrossing enough for gamers looking for a bit more.
Arcade Absurdism at its best!
This game makes no sense, nor does it even try to.
The only thing that matters now is seeing how long you can survive against the bouncing manatees, guided swordfish, and booming penguins! Just to ease your futile mission a bit there are shiny stars and various weapons you can use to help you hold off your inevitable death at sea. Very simple and intuitive tilt controls mixed in with a very robust online ranking system (complete with Twitter and Facebook support).
This game was Okay...😔
Oh the huge manatee is a game were you try to avoid getting hit by either a swordfish, penguin, or manatee. Once you get rather far into the game, you may get bubbles guns and grenades to protect yourself from the sea life. I think it is funny when you get demolished by one of the animals and the game goes Penguincinerated🐧 Swordfisherated🐟 or oh the huge manatee. This game is not impressive because when you get to the extras it seems it might make younger children think that killing animals is no issue. The game is fun in all but its ok
