Communication in healthcare is a challenge. Doctors still carry around pagers and play phone tag with each other. Patients rarely like calling their doctors and practices, leaving a voicemail, and waiting for a call back.
We set out to simplify clinical care coordination and patient communication by making it as easy as texting.
OhMD is a simple HIPAA compliant texting platform that allows doctors to securely text message with other healthcare professionals, doctors, patients and care teams. Text messaging with OhMD allows physicians to save time throughout their busy days, decrease phone tag and voicemails, and improve the timeliness of care coordination.
OhMD makes patient communication as easy as sending and receiving a text message. It is a free app for all patients to use with their doctors and care teams in participating practices and hospitals.
How to use OhMD (for Doctors):
Once you create an account, you can invite anyone to download OhMD so you can use it to communicate. This includes patients and colleagues. If you want to implement it across a practice or organization, we offer a ton of flexibility to allow you to build out care teams, message routing, and more. Once you get going, it's as easy as texting.
How to use OhMD (for Patients):
Ever feel like it would be so much easier if you could just send a message to your practice or doctor? Maybe a quick question about a rash or a medication question? OhMD looks and feels just like texting, and makes being a patient so much easier. Download and sign up for OhMD and then find your provider. Once you do that, you'll be texting in no time.

Works great!!!... Well, kind of.
I love the app when it’s working. The program works fine for a day or two, then it stops allowing me into the texting field. I enter the correct email and password, it allows me in for about a second, then I get redirected back to the sign in page. After a frustrating 3 minutes of trying to sign in again, I decided to trash the app and download it again from the App Store. Magically, my email and password work flawlessly. The app works well for another day or so. This could be such an awesome platform, if the app was just more reliable. I’d pay for this app for sure.

Hi there! We've seen this issue before and believe we can get this fixed for you today. Would you mind emailing us at email@example.com?
Works great if you can get into the app -update: can now get into app; seems to remember me.
When I tried to get into the app yesterday, I had to reset my password. Today it did not remember the password that I reset yesterday. So I created another password. It excepted the password, but then would not allow me to use it to log on. So I am currently in an endless loop where I cannot login to ohMD in order to get my text from the provider. Useless.

Hi there - we’re always here to help when users run into problems getting into their account. Can you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can help get you taken care of?
I really like this app. It’s very easy to use. I wish they’d add fingerprint ID login, that’d just be a cherry on top. I had issues logging in about 20 minutes ago. I messaged them on their website and even though it said they were away until morning, someone responded and fixed the issue within minutes. I’m very impressed. Overall great app, very useful.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
