Both a golf game and puzzler....
Always on the lookout for a fun mobile golf game, came across this randomly a couple months ago. While a lot of fun both as a puzzle game and a standard golf game, it suffers from the same problem as others of its type, slow content updates. The courses are varied, and the tricks to solve the implied puzzles in order to unlock the hidden content are tough but fair (well, all but one, though I digress), but once you figure out how to ace a hole, or whatever the lowest score possible is, you have effectively mastered it, with no replay value afterward. I would suggest both the addition of a wind variable in the standard play as well as moving holes on the green like real courses. Baring that, while I would never subscribe to future updates, paid course packs would be welcome if they increased the frequency of new content. But don't be greedy dev's! 18 holes is more worth 0.99$ than 9 holes... I'd buy 18 hole packs every week....
OK Golf is very easy to learn because it's simplicity, but also challenging. Each hole has the possibility of 3 stars. 1 star for over par; 2 stars for par; 3 stars for under par. Getting 3 stars on a hole is not always easy. Most of the time it is a pretty satisfying challenge-- enough to feel rewarding without frying my brain. They did a great job of providing a relaxing challenge. There are 4 zones to play and a 5th coming soon. I haven't encountered any bugs and I really like the UI and aiming system. The latest update added a new feature to the aiming system that I don't know how to describe, and since the devs didn't mention it in the update notes I guess they didn't know how to describe it either lol. The game is beautiful, well coded, and fun. I give it 5 stars.
P.S. No IAPs?! Bonus 6th star! No, two bonus stars! 7 stars for OK Golf!
Ready For New Courses!!
I don't often write reviews however I am obsessed with this game. Visually it is beautiful and serene, audio adds nice relaxing effect. Holes could be a bit more challenging as the courses progress. And, now they need to add additional courses as I have completed all of the initial ones. The only thing I have not completed is finding all of the hidden holes. Perhaps adding wind or a few club choices could make holes challenging to come back to. Just an idea to make the game have even more replay value. Keep up the great work.
