What's New in Version 2.1.0
Brand new look, ready for the Rio 2016 games.
It's basically a bulky app to see maybe 10 highlight news stories. The schedule/results section- which is mainly why I wanted the app as I don't have cable- is labor intensive as there are dozens of events going on at the same time, so it can take minutes to scroll to the bottom of just one day's schedule. There's no way to search for, say, "swimming results." You have to go through and individually pick out each event to search the results for. I can't find a medal tally anywhere, and it would be nice to be able to set up your own country pages to see the highlights/events/winners that you want. Overall it's a paperweight app with the Olympic Rings on the front. Just one more disappointment from the IOC.
I tried watching the men's team finals in gymnastics and couldn't find a video of the complete finals anywhere. NBC is touting how you can watch anything and everything with their app and website. Not! The coverage on tv is even more confusing. Says there will be an event on and then at the end they say .... You'll have to watch the next segment. Argh! These segments are long. I was hoping for something wow as far as coverage goes since we've come so far in our abilities computer wise. I guess I'll have to wait for the next Olympics to see how they do. They sure couldn't do much worse.
No useful at all
No easy/simple way to move around the schedule, or the entire app for that matter. No results for events that already happened. No way to chose a country(ies) to see their participation. No medal count/chart. No language options (only English, seriously?). The only two things you can do are: see the schedule (scroll down, keep scrolling, hope the app won't close on you) and access the website. A lot of glitches. Very disappointed with this app. Even when it's free should be better than this. It's not like the IOC hasn't the money to invest in a good app.
