Mostly works, but not well thought out

Unlike many of the reviewers, the basic functionality of the app worked for me. I downloaded off of Southwest's wifi and watched a full-length movie on my iPad without too much trouble.

But there's one infuriating flaw in its design: almost every time I swapped away to another app and then came back, it would lose its place, and go back to the beginning of the movie. There was a slider that could move me back to any point, but it was tough to choose a time more accurately than a couple of minutes, so I often ended up rewatching snippets of the movie. This also meant looking at the elapsed time when I paused to switch to another app, so I'd know what to aim for when I came back. Very annoying.

It did lose signal a couple of times and completely crashed my iPad once. I wouldn't have minded much--those things happen, particularly in the air--but sometimes that would also cause it to lose its place and I'd be back at the beginning of the movie again.

I read about the app after I clicked a link in a Southwest email. I downloaded the app while at home. I have an iPhone 6 and an iPad mini. I boarded my flight the next day. I logged in to the plane's free WIFI as soon as I boarded, then I opened the Airtime Player app. I watched live tv with no problems on all segments of my flights! Suddenly flying was enjoyabe!

No better than before

Saw the update and figured the issues before had been fixed. Finally supports iOS9. So I bought a movie (limited selection from previous version). That part off the app works great because it got my money. When I went to play the movie it just froze and shut off. Tried his several times with the same result. You're better off downloading something off iTunes before flying. This is ridiculous.
