Don’t know what everyone is complaining about
I suspect that the people who wrote the reviews don’t understand how the app works. The password for this app is one that you create and it doesn’t have to be crazy long. I don’t know about the library card #, mine is about 16 digits and I had no problem. The book easily downloaded to the app and instantly started playing. Easy controls to start and stop. I’m in the U.S. so maybe that’s why it’s different for me and it’s FREE so I didn’t waste any money. Is it an amazing APP? no, but it’s free and I can listen to books so I’m happy
Not as bad as reviews are saying
My download went smoothly, thankfully, The ony thing I would change about it is I would like to be able to adjust the speed of the narrator. I have been listening to a book on my phone using the Overdrive app and have set the narrator to playback slightly faster than the normal speed. I switched the book to my laptop and the narrator seems dreadfully slow. So much so that I am going to finish this book on my phone and will do another book using RBdigital.
I used it for the first time today. Prior libraries where I’ve lived relied more on Overdrive. The most basic thing an app could do would be to make clear where the downloaded files are located on your computer, but RB’s app doesn’t, and so fails. I just contacted the library and even they — who have been offering RB for a dozen years — have no idea where downloads are placed. (After some additional research, the library was able to tell me where the downloaded files are located on a PC but now a Mac.)
