Customer Reviews

Works well on the 5s

I wanted to steer some people into the app because I think the bad reviews are too many. It works well for me - pretty basic (but clean) on the iPhone, which is perfectly okay. On my macbook it works and looks nice - syncs without problems too. They both can be used offline with the data from your last sync. It's going to replace apples default notes app so it bring a lot to the table. People who have used other apps and versions don't seem as pleased and expect more - nothing is wrong with that I suppose. Another reason I chose this app is because I don't trust my data with small companies like Evernote. They just don't have as strong security teams as the big guys.

Not ready for prime time.

Like most Microsoft products, this one has been rushed to market with a feature set that is inadequate and, frankly, near useless. I have the desktop, iPhone, and iPad versions.

On the phone or iPad, you can't create or rename sections or notebooks. You can't create a table or paragraph and reposition it on the page (and the default position doesn't seem to ever be what I want).

Frankly, given that every app I have has figured out how to drag objects around the screen, I am mystified as to what Microsoft was thinking.

And if you remember PC history, the original big feature of OneNote was the ability to recognize and store ink and handwriting (not interpret, just store the shapes). Yet the desktop version can't do this with a trackpad input, and neither the iPhone or iPad versions can do it with screen input.

Yeah, this syncs. Big deal. It can't create anything worth syncing.

For all MSO haters...

This app is great. It slimmed down OneNote into an app for your phone. If you hate Microsoft, how do you even pay your bills, anyway? MS makes software for people that know what they're doing. Keep crying about how you can't figure it out. Apple is made to Molly-Coddle people into thinking computers are easier to use than they are. I like my iPhone. It's better than windows phones, but I wouldn't be caught dead with a Mac. Windows makes better software, apple makes better hardware. (Sometimes, excluding the iPad mini)
