Only Post Good reviews
Overall I like to Open Table system for reservations and rarely do reviews except when my dining experience is disturbingly bad because of service, food or atmosphere. I dined at a restaurant recently and entered my single star review with comments and Open Table has not yet posted it since November 13, 2015. Seems that Open Table is biased only posts good reviews. It was a restaurant chain I have dined at uterus times (Pacific Catch in San Francisco Bat area) over the years at 4 of its locations. But on 11/13, it was the most horrific experience, screeching child, dis respective parents and service manager Jack who said I was rude for wanting a different table that was not near the toilets and storage area! Most unpleasant as I introduced a friend to it and the experience was terrible. Although the general manager came by half an hour later to apologize, the damage was already done and he had no idea how badly I was treated by other patrons and his staff!,,
For those who have tried phoning a restaurant reservation line half a dozen times only to get a recording or a busy signal, Open Table is the answer.
No waiting AND you can read reviews so you know what others experienced and be up-to-date on the latest restaurants with "buzz."
Case in Point: I often travel to the same city on business and three times have tried to book a table at a restaurant that does NOT use Open Table. After hearing the same message about how important service is to them, restaurant hours, and so on and being directed to leave a name and number and they will get back to me "soon," I made the decision then and there to book exclusively through Open Table.
Discrimination is Prevalent!
I am giving this app one start based on it's horrible purposeful and flagrant discrimination. That's right, this app practices will and open discrimination towards single dinners. Try booking a restaurant on this thing as a single dinner and NOTHING is ever available at any time. Try it again with 2 diners selected at the same time and endless dining times are presented. Why do they even bother adding the number one to the selection menu when they clearly discriminate against the single diner? This is horrible and it makes me furious. I end up having to book 2 people in order to get a reservation , even in an empty restaurant and claim the other person couldn't make it once seated. Absolutely horrible for single diners and sadly so many restaurants for you to this app for their reservations. In some rare cases, it will show seating times for singles at 10:00 PM when the restaurant is about to close.
