Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
OpenTable is the only app that helps you make reservations at over 20,000 restaurants in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Explore great restaurants, find available tables, and earn reward points for every reservation.
How it works:
Choose a date, time, and party size to see available tables in real time – near you or wherever you’re headed. Tap the table you want and it’s yours.
· Find a restaurant by cuisine or location
· Narrow your search by price, rating, or distance
· Browse helpful reviews and photos of top dishes
· Invite friends to dine with you
· Add reservations to your calendar
· Bookmark your favorite restaurants
· Include special requests with your reservation, like “It’s our anniversary!” or “May we sit at the chef’s counter?”
· Earn reward points and cash them in to use at any OpenTable restaurant

What's New in Version 8.3.0
New year, new improvements. We've fixed bugs & enhanced search on the back end, so your next OpenTable dining experience can be smoother than ever. Here's to a delicious 2015!
Could be better with simple fixes
They have your number so why not make it easy for the restaurant to text you and fell you that your table won't be ready?? This has happened many times. We'll show up on time for our reservations only to find out it's gonna be another 15-30 minutes. Why not just text me and tell me that due to demand availability will be at that time!?!? This way I can keep shopping instead of rushing to a reservation that is not being honored by the establishment.
Also, as previously stated by others, why make it so hard to search in an area? By default it goes to my home area. What if I am traveling and would like to make reservations 1500 miles away? Good luck! The app somehow thinks it knows better than you and continuously switches locations to the point of frustration.
Fortunately we use it only for the points and because we frequent a couple of nearby restaurants. All the other times we use a different and better app and forgo the points. Could be much better but the developers obviously live in a bubble and make the app convenient for their needs.
My wife and I are retired and very fortunate to be able to both eat out and travel fairly often. I have become so dependent on OpenTable for making reservations, both long range (months in advance) and "tonight" (in a couple of hours or even "right now"), that I'm thrown off when my desired restaurant isn't included. I've used OpenTable mostly in Portland, Oregon, where we live, but also in Ashland, Oregon, Seattle, SF, Berkeley, Boston, Kailua-Kona, Kauai, and a number of others, reliably and dependably. Never a problem. My only complaint is that OpenTable has a serious problem, at least in Portland, with correctly identifying the neighborhoods in which restaurants are located: subtract one star.
I had used the regular (internet, computer-based) Open Table for years and it never failed.
So when the app became available, I got it immediately. Its best use is still for restaurants I am familiar with, to get dependable reservations fast. That said, I have used it often to book reservations in other cities; in those cases, I usually read the reviews on sites like Yelp, and then book the table on Open Table. It always works and I haven't noticed any lower quality with the updates, as other reviewers have commented.
