Awesome game, bad bug, no support

This is a great game. The nostalgia factor certainly adds to the enjoyment for those who played Oregon Trail, but the formula has been tweaked in just the right ways. Unfortunately, I've experienced a game-ending bug in every single Difficult playthrough I've attempted. I sent an email to support in December 2014 and received no response. I've been playing on an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.6 (un-jailbroken). After a few attempts, I beat the game on easy, then I played through a couple times on normal. Next, I attempted difficult. During some point during every attempt on difficult, the game would freeze and no longer progress while the car was driving down the road. Sometimes this happened close to the beginning and sometimes after putting a few hours in, and once quite close to the end. It always happens on the road. I can change between Health and Stats. I can press Stop and the dots start moving. But I never make it to the next event, the game never progresses. When I return to the main menu and hit Continue, I start a turn or two back and always get stuck again within a couple of turns (which seem to be randomized). Exact same thing when I hard-close the game via the multi-tasking interface. When I deleted the game, I experienced the same behavior after reinstalling. There is no way can recommend the game if can't be played through to the end.

Fantastic

This is a fantastic game and well worth what I paid for. There is a reason why my car wouldn't move. It's either because I didn't have a muffler, or because I didn't have a battery. Yes, I had to restart the game, but I don't care...unlike others. I don't care because I don't pay attention to when I'm gonna beat the game. I pay attention to the fun content (yes, it has the BEST content). Just one thing, back then, like 4 years ago, it was free, but now it's $3. I was sad when I found out they raised the price, but like I said, it's worth it once I got to play it again. Note the the makers: Don't do anything that'll ruin the game. Don't do anything like making the game impossible to play without buying something with REAL money or infesting the game with advertisements. Yeah, fix the glitches and stuff but DONT ruin the game.

Love this game

First off, I gotta say that I don't usually buy games if they're more than $0.99, and even after looking through the screenshots and reading some of the reviews, I'll admit I was still a bit skeptical if this game. I am however happy to say that my skepticism was HIGHLY unfounded. I loved this game when I was in elementary school, so much so that I ended up searching for a suitable replacement that never quite lived up to the original. This game however takes the infinitely enjoyable childhood experience of The Oregon Trail, and adds the ever so popular element of a modern zombie apocalypse to the mix. The end result is a game that, in my opinion, not only warrants a $3 asking price, but is also worthy of an additional $2 expansion purchase. Overall, this game is a masterpiece that is just as fun as its predecessor. 5 stars just for the nostalgia.
