The archaeological park of Ostia Antica is one of the largest and most important archaeological sites of ancient Rome. With its fifty hectares, its buildings and its streets, it testifies to the development of a large urban and commercial center during the imperial age.
At the pinnacle of its evolution, Ostia was a crowded port with a population of more than 50.000 people, cosmopolitan, busy, full of shops, markets, inns, hotels and thirteen thermal baths, but also many temples dedicated to oriental cults, a well-equipped and rich town for sailors, travelers and merchants. Simply put, Ostia was the most important port of the antiquity, the gate of Rome on the mediterranean sea.

Fixed issue related to the development under iOS 5.0.

Ratings and Reviews
This is the first travel related app I've not been disappointed with. I travel at least 4 months every year. Its rare that I even bother with tourist/travel focused apps. They are nothing more than collections of adverts.
I read a good review for this app from a U.K. site so I bought it. It's very good. My Mom was Roman, I initially went there as a child, then again in my pre-teens years and then as an adult. I know Ostia Antica fairly well. This guide will add an expanded dimension to my travels there next month. Ostia Antica is a hidden gem. Like so many other ancient Roman sites that are totally off the tourist trail.
I did run into the red/blue placeholder issue. As the developer's FAQ notes: quit/close the app, Settings>Ostia Antica> set to "Rebuild at Startup", launch app, back to Settings and turn off the rebuild. All images now display. I put these instructions in the review as the developers FAQ is not all that easy to locate.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
