Not an update...Upgrade only for greed

The app is good. However, the latest update said it now has the ability to allow certain applications or block certain ones. That's great, but that's not part of the plan your subscribed to. It's a new plan you have to upgrade to. The app block/allow was a feature that was going to be part of an update from their old FAQs. What they failed to mention is that it requires you to pay more money. I use this app for both kids. Their devices are wifi only. They are not connected to a phone plan. I don't need to have the text messaging feature. That sounds like that should be part of an upgraded program. I can see that option. I originally signed up with this program because of what it could do and because of the future update to allow/block apps. Very disappointed. I started this review with two stars, but after typing this and thinking about it, I'm knocking down to 1 star and going to see what else is out there. I'd rather pay for an app that is upfront than this one that promises an update to allow blocking apps and then charging additional for it. That is not an update. That is an upgrade. They should have mentioned it originally in their FAQs. Now I feel like I have been played.

Almost too simple...not in a good way

I installed this app on my child's iPhone. Then realized that all I could do with the free version was: ~disable games and internet - fine, but the app apparently decides for you which to disable and it included the school-issued homework app. It makes the apps disappear and when they come back they're alphabetical - annoying.
~set one scheduled off limits time. (The paid versions come with more schedule options.)
~even though the parental restrictions I had previously set on the phone were on, my child deleted the monitoring profile almost immediately and in-paired it from my phone. Useless.

Better to just use the phones own restrictions. Even if you can't remotely shut the phone down, you can at least make it less interesting so they'll do something else.

A Parent's Dream

Gives me enough control that I can exhale and breathe easy knowing what my teen can access all while not requiring me to take his device and hide it only for him to find it and get in more trouble. I no longer have to remind myself to take phone overnight or turn apps on or off. The app lets u set schedules and I have one when he's on or off track with behavior that vary by schoolday and weekend. Would love to be able to turn off the native message app too but it turns off Snapchat and that's mainly how the kids in his group chat anyway. Great app!
