Out-A-Bout is intended to encourage physical activity, outdoor play, early literacy, and parent-child interaction, for children ages 3 to 5. Parents and children receive prompts to perform certain outdoor, physical activities (e.g., running, jumping, climbing). Using the phone, parents take still photographs of their children engaged in the activities, and the photographs are uploaded into a pre-developed story narrative for subsequent viewing, reading together, and conversation.
It's only okay
It's a fun concept, but there's only one story to choose from. And more than half the time we use it, the app closes after taking about 4 pictures so we have to start all over and hope it works. Hopefully they can work the bugs out and add more stories soon.
Cute family fun
How fun to create a story in which your child stars! Sure it would be great if there were more stories, but it's free, so who's to complain? We've had no crashing issues.
Very cute idea! My toddler loves to see himself in a story book with animals! Wants to see it over and over!
