Great game, too luck based though.

I really want to give this game 5 stars. I love everything about it. Fun premise, nice music, cool art, a good senses of exploration. My only gripe with this game is that it is way too luck based. There is end game content that I want to see but, I don't have 50+ hours to roll dice just to get that perfect sequence. I have seen one of the endings but it took way to long for me to get to it. There is really only one real strategic decision you get to make in the game. When to land and when to skip a planet. Theres some other minor choices: what cargo to transfer and how deep to drill, but this is the choice that has the greatest effect on your survival. The coolest part about this game is all the inner monologue and text based events that take place during the voyage. Juggling elements and trying to communicate with the various lifeforms you come across is also very fun. I just wish the devs would make a super easy mode, that decreases the resource consumption for entering and exiting orbits so i could see all of this game.

Pretty amazing...

It's really obvious that a lot of blood sweat and tears went into this game. It's not just some resource management thing for people who find comfort in numbers, nor is it just some kind of masturbatory sci-fi story with a little bit of interaction thrown in. It's quite staggeringly in-depth. The music is awesome. The art is great. The only thing I don't like is that after dying about twenty times (you're going to die A LOT), I feel like too much of it is dumb luck. I understand that's actually more realistic, but it takes away from the joy of discovery and exploration a little bit (which is my favorite part of the game). Really cool though. Worth it.

NEEDS improvements

Truly fun game until you run into impossible-to-win scenarios. The alien races erase your technology to travel and make it impossible to go anywhere! It's horribly annoying to have to give up when you've been on a certain game for over an hour. Also, after finding abandoned ships, you can't even learn the technology onboard or when you switch ships, you can't even learn the technology of the new ship you're using!! That is counterintuitive to me. Lastly, you can't even play your own music to this app. Please make some improvements. This game has potential, and c'mon, I paid a whole dollar for this.
