You are an astronaut awaking from cryonics not in the solar system, but... out there... in a far and unknown place of the galaxy. In Out There, you will have to survive, tinkering your ship with what you can gather drifting in the void, and spot garden planets to refill your oxygen supply.
Space is an hostile place ; dangerous and mysterious adventures will mark each step of your travel. You will not only meet intelligent species that won’t care about you, but also deal with ancient powers linked to your destiny and the fate of mankind itself.
Survival and understanding of what is really at stake in the galaxy is the core of what Out There has to offer.

Good but too random
This game is like FTL without combat, strategy, or anything else that makes FTL such an amazing game. Instead of traveling through space with a goal-defeat the rebels-you are wandering around using way too much fuel getting around, not having enough materials or space to hold materials, and being frustrated by random events that put your hull and fuel levels in the red and transport you to a star halfway across the universe! This is a good game at its core, but it seems more like a game of luck rather than a game of skill or strategy. The only skill you need for this game is patience. If you are a fan of text adventures and rogue likes, then this is the game for you. If you're looking for an FTL experience, then don't waste your money. I have played this game so many times since I got it, and never have I once gotten close to reaching the star shown at the beginning of the game. And why are there no saves?? It's like the developers stripped away all of FTLs combat and variety and replaced it with this rogue like text adventure frustrating no saves version of FTL-but its FTL stuck on hard mode and you can't change the difficulty, only hope that you don't run into an asteroid field or a solar flare or get invaded by a Lanius.
Great and frustrating
First of all, this game is for sure well done! Lots of fun, decent graphics, interesting plot, killer soundtrack (!) and lots of lost in space atmosphere, with a twist of humor. Different tracks take you in different interesting directions, and you encounter strange anomalies, aliens, artifacts etc. It is so worth buying it's not funny. It's worth way more than I paid for it and I'm really looking forward to the Omega Edition. My only issue with the game is its randomness seems to prevent you from going very far in the journey, at least for me thus far. I am forever running out of fuel or iron. I'm getting better at it, but it's still frustrating that when you run out of fuel, as in real space, you're doomed and you have to start all over. So, there's no mercy there. Having said that, it seems that I play most of the game always about to run out of fuel or iron, and do happen to come across an old starship or something that helps me get a little further. Getting a bit tired of starting over and over though - still, it's a great game and really well made. Get it! Five stars for sure. 👍
More of an experience than a game per se...
I read some good reviews of this game and decided to try it. I paid $.99 for it, I think. SO worth it. The game is more sort of this unfolding story of this small man lost in a big universe far from the planet he calls home. You start in a star system with a certain amount of resources (Oxygen, Iron, Fuel, etc.) loaded into your ship. You have a goal and you slowly make your way across the galaxy scrounging what resources and technologies you can to keep your faithful ship bearing you on valiantly towards your objective. There is a little bit of strategy in which technologies you make use of, which cargo you carry, etc. ... but really, anything could happen. Thats what I like about it though. I've played many games of it since I grabbed it last night. Some of them were very short but still entertaining. Each time you restart its a little space adventure waiting for you and you never know how its going to go. A nice way to fill a few moments. A lot of enjoyment for $.99.
