Works OK but no support

The support link from the App Store here points to the developer's twitter account. Of course, sending a tweet to that account doesn't do anything. After more than 24 hours, I haven't heard anything back. I tried to get in touch with the developer after Output stopped putting a checkmark next to the Build-in output when it was selected. I don't know why. The Sounds preferences shows the internal speakers as the output when selected but not Output anymore.

I ended up deleting it from my system because, you know what? If you press the Option key and click the sound volume menulet in the main menubar, it will show all input and output sources! At least in Mountain Lion. Don't know about Lion or Snow Leopard.

Simple and useful!

The OS X upgrade to Mountain Lion forced an upgrade to Output 1.2. I noticed that my Akai EIE Pro (USB audio device) no longer played output. It's not showing up in the Output Device list either. I updated drivers for the EIE Pro (2.1.18). After rebooting, audio would come out the EIE by default, but it still didn't show in Output Device list. This could be partly an OS X problem because in the System Preferences, the EIE Pro shows up in the Input and Output lists, but doesnt register as having Input or Output controls. It does, however, have I/O with Reason 7 (the DAW I use) and shows up in its list of audio devices just fine. Any clues?

Works Very Well

This app is a simple menubar switch that allows you to choose your audio source and output without hassling with system preferences. As a composer and sound recordist I work with a number of audio sources and several outputs. This app saves me loads of time and from lots of aggravaton.

Perhaps the phrase “support for multiple AirPlay devices” is misleading- I understood it correctly to mean you may choose from among multiple Airplay devices. I deducted one star for the dead link for the support page.
