Outside - Visual Weather Forecast
Open iTunes to buy and download apps.
Outside is a visual weather forecast with custom push notifications like you’ve never seen before.
"Of all these weather apps, Outside is the most fun" - New York Times
"Outside Puts The iPhone Weather App To Shame." - Techcrunch
"Outside Is a Super-Stylish Weather Notifying App" - Lifehacker
Outside combines current weather and local forecasts with custom push notifications. Look out the window and see what the weather is like through stunning visuals. Swipe the days to see the forecasts, or setup and receive alerts when the weather is just right.
With our custom push notifications you can have Outside alert you of certain weather situations. It’s easy and fun to set up your very own notifications. Have Outside wake you up in the morning and tell you if you’re going to need an umbrella for work today. Outside monitors the local weather and tells you when it’s going to rain. You can also monitor UV levels – or how about setting up a cold weather notification, reminding you when it’s time to slip on the big overcoat?
We have weather data from around the world, so that you are always served fresh-off-the-observatory local forecasts, relevant to you.

We thank everyone for your patience, we can't begin to describe how long we've actually been working on this. We had to rebuild the entire app (not just the tons of graphics) to accommodate the higher resolution artwork and animations. This basically meant starting from scratch and creating Outside all over again.
What happened to the Notification Subscription? After months of crunching the numbers and reorganizing the servers, we've decided to shoulder the cost of offering custom notifications - We thank everyone who have supported the subscription service, know that it's because of you that we are now able to offer the service for free.
We hope you enjoy this much awaited update, as always 5 star reviews on iTunes or a simple tweet are a tremendous help in keeping the app alive.
Cute format, unreliable for rain.
Here in the south there is always a chance of rain and always a few clouds, especially in the summer. This app does not tell you whether it's going to rain all day, or whether you should expect only an afternoon shower. If it gave a percentage chance of rain, that would be helpful. If the app let you know what time of the day you might expect rain, that would be even better. Simply showing raindrops on the app tells me nothing without providing additional information. The app has the same limitations regarding cloudy, partly cloudy or overcast. The cartoon graphics may be pleasant to look at, but without providing the necessary information that I was looking for when I purchased the app, it turns out to be a waste of money. In the several months since I bought the app I have looked at maybe 4 or 5 times and each time I still go back to the weather channel app because it actually provides accurate and understandable weather information. If you need to know what to expect in your daily weather, this app is not what your looking for.
DEAD APP.. Great for casual weather!
Developers seem to have abandoned app and now offers Haze, another weather app. If they treat Haze like they did this one - it may also become neglected in time.. :(
Under a Haze review on web, I did see one of the developers mention that an update to Outside will happen. "Wait and see."
How long do their customers have to wait?
PS - I did buy Haze. Nice, very simple and full - quite diff than this classic..
I love this Weather app, very fun and great images. (shake to refresh, by the way)
Push sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. No hourly.
The part that kill me tho, is dev communication. I had to write several times for help, finally had an answer - they said the email must of been lost? Please. I wrote again and never heard back from the dev. I offered help to expand the app, nothing. That's not cool, but it's still my favorite weather app. Great for casual, TWC for the real deal (hourly and warnings, etc).
I hope these guys at least improve their communication skills, I can see from the comments here that I'm not alone.
One of only Two Five-Star Apps I've Ever Reviewed
Edit: Big problems. App can't connect to the server and push notifications don't work. I'm docking a star till these issues are resolved.
Edit: the developers took all my suggestions and this is now an amazing app! And it was already a 5-star app!!
This app truly is beautiful, and for what it says it does it delivers and then some. The graphics and animations are smooth and well-designed. It's almost like app-art!
If the developers are open to suggestions, though, I've got only three: could you put the current time somewhere on the home screen, allow the user to override iPhone's built-in auto-lock and then have the app automatically change display when new weather conditions update. This way users could allow the app to serve as their nightstand clock.
Great app though, and well worth the money.
