Another great way to enjoy books

For an avid reader who often simply does not have time to visit the library Overdrive is a beautiful resource. I've only been using it for a few short weeks but am enjoying the "free"dom of it. Free is a huge luxury when you read a great deal - it allows me to try a greater variety of books and be guilt free when I do not finish a book I'm not crazy about.
Overdrive is working hard at being intuitive but I feel I'm still working at learning it. I love the sleep timer which works so well. I think the bookmarks and moving within the text are fine. I'm not sure I have really figured out how to do a whole library search yet.
I like the audio best; for ebooks adjusting the print size and making notes are not as simple as other readers. But I'm happy w the choices and the free part. I would definitely recommend Overdrive to any big time reader!

Overall a great app

I have been using the app for a few years. As some others have mentioned, it looses its place sometimes so I make a bookmark each time I pause it. I haven't figured out when it will loose its place and when it won't, so to save myself from having to find my spot, I make a bookmark.

I have a suggestion. I have recently had a few books on hold. I have learned to review my list and suspend the hold if I am currently listening to a story and am getting close to being #1 on the hold list. It would be nice if there was an option to let the second in line move up so you can finish the story you are working on. I had one come up as my turn to checkout the book, but I was not in a place to listen to it. I had to give up my spot and go to the back of the line.

Overall, love the app.

OK - needs many more options

This app is good for reading, but for managing your books it is sad. Ideally, one should be able to sort books on many more options than title, recent, or expiration. For example, sorting by Author (last name please) and publication date would be great. I get a monthly subscription of 8 plus titles and thus I have hundreds of books. I'd love to be able to sort by publication date and author to find what I'm looking for. Plus, I'd love to be able to create categories or folder into which I could class books, again to make them more findable. A status option would be great, one you can set or unset, like read or not read or even unfinished. Using status one could "hide" books once read, but go find them if one wanted to read them again. I don't want to delete them and have to redownload them later should I want to read a second time.
