My Arrangements Gone
I am in an Acapella group at my school and I do most of the arranging of songs for that group, and it was suggested to me to use this app to arrange my songs. I loved this app with its retro feel and great mechanics, but for me there is one fatal flaw. On my old IPhone 5, I started an arrangement and it sounded really good but then whenever I tried to access it, the app crashed for no reason and I lost the arrangement. But then recently when I got a new phone, the iPhone 6s I tried to remake the arrangement and it sounded even better. But then, just minutes ago the same thing happened to me and my arrangement is gone. I am very angry that I will have to remake this a second time and I am very displeased with the app. Luckily there is no other app that I can find that allows me to arrange like this, so I will continue to use it but I am very unhappy with the app and if I have to remake any Arrangements again I will delete it...
Fun, great interface for 1 unlimited track
Overdub stands out as awesome in a way few apps these days manage to do thanks to its unique retro design and simplicity. I want to personally thank the Overdub developers for their time, energy, and work they've put in to creating this multi functional app. As a novice to the recording process, I appreciate more of its features all the time. I'm careful about what apps I download and keep, as I am sure you are, and I think this app is a true keeper. I actually think my one recording from 5 months ago sounds more cleaned up today, magically. I ideally would like to make more recordings; I may unlock that option for $1.99.
For quick songwriting demos there's nothing better or cooler!
I started my recording journey with a Tascam 424 cassette four track PortaStudio when I was 18 in 1993, so the throwback nature of Overdub appealed to me from jumpstreet. Now this is not Auria, the finest DAW-multitrack studio on iOS, but it wasn't designed to be. It won't produce pro sounding demos easily (I'm sure with some time and skills you could get close though). Overdub is perfect for simple songwriting takes, testing some harmony lines or guitar parts, this app is perfect.
The sound quality and overdub facility is cool, and the art direction and authentic tape sounds are enough for old analog guys to get nostalgic over. Good app, especially for free.
