This app is excellent. It is by far one of my favorites and I use it at every band practice to quickly jot down ideas and record practice. The share/export feature makes it quick and easy to send the tracks via email to your band mates. If there is one thing I wish it could do is to have cloud storage to easily access my files between my iOS devices. If you are a musician you should buy this app, it is an excellent companion to the writing process and it's interface effects will make you smile every time, especially if you are from the cassette tape generation. It doesn't replace GarageBand in its functionality but it is far faster and far more convenient if you simply want to quickly multitrack live sound.
Would-be best app in the world
As a recording musician in a band, everything about this app makes me drool it is so good. I use it at every band rehearsal and have used it to demo countless songs, or just record a song idea i get at 2 in the morning without having to set up all of my equipment. The editing options are flawless(wish increments could be smaller for more exact editing, but no real complaint) and everything makes so much sense. The only problem is LAG. While recording, lag messes up the metronome and what you play over and basically completely screws everything you are recording at the moment. If you didnt have to do each track five times to avoid lag, it would be a five star app. Would be best app ever, if no lag:(
Does what it needs to but needs quality improvement
So far at least, this is the only app I could find that can overdub recordings. Even so, it does a good job at it. It has a lot of useful features and the mechanics are all right. The main issues are that the playback makes occasional popping noises like it’s a scratched CD, and if your file gets long enough or with too many different parts, it starts to lag. If you need to overdub recordings so you can play different parts of a song at different times and then put them together, this is probably your best (but also only) option.
