Your quadrant of the galaxy is being invaded by a species of aliens known as Marauders. The rest of your fleet has been disabled and you, in command of the FS Discovery, are the last chance to save your home planet.
Intelligence reports suggest that the Marauders main targets are the starbases spread throughout the quadrant and you may be called upon to save these vital supply points from attack.
Fortunately your vessel is equipped with the very best weapons and shields and it outclasses the majority of the Marauder fleet however rumours suggest the the Marauders have recently put a new more powerful class of ship into operation.
Padd Trek is based on the classic mini-computer \ mainframe trek game that first emerged in the 1970s. The game proceeds in turns with each side having the opportunity to move and fire. The quadrant is broken down into an 8x8 grid of sectors with each sector further broken down into an 8x8 grid containing stars, enemy ships and star bases. If your ship takes damage then this can have various effects on the gameplay: you might be blinded due to sensor failure or unable to move due to engine failure. Damage can be repaired but not while you are under attack.
To win you must beat the odds and destroy all Marauder vessels in the quadrant and the faster you can complete your mission the higher your final score will be.

Mostly true to the original
This one is quite a bit harder from the version I remember playing on the C=64, mostly because when you run out of energy, you can't move at all instead of being able to limp across at low impulse. That, and you're never quite sure how much energy your expending on phasers, and the fact that starbases don't repair you for free.
I do like the directional shields in this version though.
Lots of fun. I wIsh they would add to it.
I grew up playing the original dos version of this game. This is very similar but better with improved graphics. I only wish the programmers would add to it. I'd live to see more strategy items such as Romulans that cloak, freighters under attack, planets that can be mined, or starbases that can fire back. Nice work!
Smoking deal for free
This is a really good implementation especially for free. It's simple and basic but rock solid.
Its hard to have cons on a free app but sound and lack of features like planets, other friendly ships in distress etc are the only things i could point out but are easily added in a future update.
